Utah Jazz Preseason Game #1 Sydney Kings at Utah Jazz Mon Oct 2, 7:00 pm

I gotta say I'm most interested to watch Mitchell. If he plays well the Jazz may not struggle this season as bad without Haywood.

So do the Sydney Kings have any talented players who could have a shot at making it in the NBA?

In short no. Isaac Humphries might have a shot after he goes through puberty(he's 19) but I reckon its unlikely, the kid should have stayed in college or gone to Europe, the Kings is a bad move for him. They've also got Dane Pineau who was at St Mary's last year too.

Why is getting paid to be a pro a bad thing? Ingles started out in Australia as a teen and it worked out well for him.

The league isn't as good as it was back then, think Humphries should have transferred from Kentucky to another college where he'd get a chance to play and probably should have done a year or two in Europe before trying to crack the NBA, like Aron Baynes did. If he'd done that he'd be 23 years old with four years of college hoops under his belt plus two years as a pro in Europe, think he'd have been a lot better off.

Plus i don't think NBL players make a fantastic amount of money, I might be wrong but i think the league salary cap is about 1 million AUD, spread that by 11 players and its not a lot of coin. You'd need to be earning 100k in Sydney just to pay your rent and bills. (cost of living in this country is crazy, you'd be looking at 3k a month for a two bedroom dog's box anywhere near the city.)

I remember the days of 'Gaze alley oop to Copeland'. When they actually showed the NBL on TV because it was exciting and thee was a good interest.

Yeah, but isnt the minimum wage in Australia 16 dollars a hour?

I'm most interested to see how healthy Favors and Burks are and if they are back to their pre injury form. If they are back to form, it would be a big boost to the team success

How would I know? You've pretty much gotta make at least 50k per year to survive (god knows how) 75k plus is about average. Wages are high here compared to the US but so is the cost of living, outside of Melbourne or Sydney prices are different. I have what is considered to be a low skilled job and I make near enough to six figures, mind you i get paid the best rates in my industry. Anyway the game is nine hours away i'm gonna get some sleep and watch the Kings get crushed while I eat my breakfast.

We have a ton of wings, so Burks is really a luxury. The key is Favs. He once had the lateral movement to guard small 4's and then punish them on offense with his size. If he's returned to his pre-injury form, he and Rudy are going to be nasty inside.

Burks pre injury is one of our best players. Much more then just a luxury. Being able to play three positions. And a huge bolster to our bench. If 100% back to his old self, he's a big key to the jazz success, IMO

I had a dream one of the Australian players landed on Burks foot and broke it, ending his season.
