What's new

Utah Jazz @ San Antonio Spurs -- Feb 3, 7pm MST

I told people Rubio would be just fine once he got acclimated and he eventually had a chance to have the ball in his hands more. It's not a surprise that he's been kiiling it over this stretch where Hood has been out (Donovan tonight). He doesn't have to play off ball as much. When we have Donovan, Rubio, Hood and AB it's just a cluster****. Too many guys who need the ball in their hands to be at their best. Remove one and our offense looks great. Another reason why trading Hood is probably a good idea.

Trading Hood with the expectation of Rubio keeping this level of play is dumb.

Royce is so good. Favors has half his points from his perfect position passes.

Alec Burks pounds the rock fakes left, goes right, two steps inside the arc he throws it as he fades right. The shot goes in and alec says to himself "Im a player".

Quin says to himself "when is Don coming back?"

I just want to say that Burks has mostly sucked on offense tonight but defensively he had been fantastic (up until about a minute and a half left in the 3 quarter).
His man didn’t score until the end of the 3rd quarter (mills hit a three after Burks switched to manu and the guy guarding manu didn’t pick up mills and Burks couldn’t get back to him in time.... then on a semi fast break Burks ran down into the paint where it looked like a shot was going to be taken and the ball was kicked out to manu for a three). Maybe the best defense I ever saw from him.

In fact, at the end of the half Burks was on the bench. Rubio goes to the line with about 35 seconds left. Quin substitutes offense for defense thinking the next possession would be the last for the spurs. He brought Burks in for defense on the last possession. Never thought that would happen.

Earlier this week quin was on a local radio show and was asked about the play of Burks and Royce while hood has been out and he praised Burks defense.

Fouls. What is or isn't one? Rudy is getting fouled every offensive inside possession, the spurs are doing it on purpose and the refs don't call anything. Rudy is clearly getting upset too.

Finally Burks hits a three. I bet he is shooting like 10% from 3 in the last month.

This is where having Mitchell would be critical. Kid just has another level in crunch time. Some say that “being clutch” isn’t a real skill, but it very much is. Guys like Jordan, LeBron, Curry, Durant, Kobe and now Mitchell all thrive in those moments. Hopefully the Jazz can close this out and wn without him.

BS call. Called the foul before it even happened

Yep. Jazz are missing him right now and mills is on fire.
