Here it is jazzfanz, the return of Utah Jazz Survivor.

The game is pretty simple. Each round you will vote one player off the team. This will help determine who jazzfanz considers to be the Jazz' best assets.

Things to consider:

Length and terms of contract, player's potential, player's trade value.

For example, Big Al might be a better NBA player than Enes Kanter at this moment, but who is more valuable to the Jazz as an asset?

One of the best thing about these threads is your horrible play on words with their names.

To me Millsap is the clear choice here.

the argument for paul over hayward: paul is more proven, and has gotten better every year. he's been our best player for the last two seasons. he has a clutch mode that, while it doesn't occur terribly often, puts him on a completely other plane from others. thorpe and abbott say he's a top 20 guy in the league. he is an underrated defender, and has the steal rate of a guard. he's tough as hell and rarely misses games. he's an efficient scorer. he's versatile, above average in just about every category. and, on top of all that, he's still a major asset because he's on an expiring contract that will cost a team far less than it's cap value.

the argument for hayward over millsap: he's younger, and has a potentially higher ceiling if he steadily improves for his first 6-7 years like paul has. he's a unique guy, with a combination of skills that isn't easy to find or duplicate. he's also an efficient scorer; even though his 3-point percentages have vacillated wildly, he's still in the same neighborhood for TS%. gets to the line a lot for a player of his size and skill set (4.1 FTA/36) and is a good shooter once there (.832). also a very tradable asset as he's on a rookie deal that has two more years at a modest salary and then grants his team rights of first refusal.

this one is really, really tough. millsap is clearly the better player right now. hayward clearly has a lot more upside.

i think i'm voting paul off first, but i coudl seriously argue either way on this one.

I like this. I am truly hoping that Kanter and Burks take big leaps this year. Favors dominates, Millsap resigns and that Marvin Willaims fits right in and shows us what he can do.

I'd love to be able to say that Hayward, Favors, Millsap, Kanter, Williams and Burks are our core. Instead of reffering to The Four when I talka bout our core.

1. A solid 18/8 player (could easily be 20/10+ without Big Al). Best and most versatile shooter on the team.
2. A guy who has shown up for only 1/2 of each season his first two years, then had one of the worst playoff series EVER.
3. The "Next Big Thing" in the NBA.

Based on their potential, and the bargain-basement prices of their rookie contracts, I'll go with Hayward and Favors. But I love ya, Paul, and hope to see you back next season.

that's how i think about it. i'm guardedly optimistic about marvin, but i think that might be an underrated acquisition. and you know how i feel about paul. we probably won't win a title if paul is our best player, but if enough of the young guys pan out that paul can be paul, we can be very good.

I'm going to keep Gordon Favors to the end.

that's fair... my only worry is that there's no guarantee gordon will ever be as good as millsap, let alone better.

i feel differently about favors. but hayward is still far from a sure bet.

I voted for Millsap, but like MoTown, I hope to see him back next year at a price that hopefully won't cripple the Jazz in the future.

The amount of crap that comes from you is beyond my understanding.

I understand that cold dose of reality is hard to accept for some, especially for you when you are in unconditional love with your favorite player.
When feelings are in the throne common sense stands outside the doors.
