What's new

Utah Jazz @ Toronto Raptors 3/9 5:00PM MST

CJ, Al and Devin Harris gave superb efforts tonight. Raja couldn't hit a shot but he battled and made some big plays. Evan's doesn't have the size to play with the big boys. Fess is still lost.

Really?

I mean, really?

Blame a coach for having 9 bodies, two starters out, and one of those bodies a guy with no name on his jersey?

I wish I could take points away, but you have been awarded none. May Satan have mercy on your soul.

And that's the story of the puppy who lost his way.

I feel ya.... I just got pissed and forgot we didn't have a full roster I get so upset watching these games. I'd take points from my self to for that. We won so I'm happy. I hope Corbin does well the rest of the year, and makes the playoffs and is a round the next 20 years.

Ah. CJ with his tolken good game.

And then watch the next 2 weeks of bricks.

Big Al was amazing (offensively) tonight. He still doesn't box out worth a damn.

And Fess's and Raja's play isn't worth the TP that I'm about to use.

Were all of CJ's shots wide open, i only watched a little bit than my stream went out. The shots I saw him take they forgot to guard him. This is why the Raptors are sooooo bad. but nice work Big Al, good for him.

Rookie Analysis -
Evans - not bad. Needs some meat on his bones. He also mishandled 2 rocket passes from Hayward, unsure whos bad it was.

Maybe I am the only one, but I see a serious lack of NBA skills in Evans. He can jump. What else?????? I suspect he will be out of the league in a couple of years. And more muscle might hurt as much as it helps, if he puts on weight his jumping will be hindered.

Only a pf can play the best at that position. Even if he should be playing pf he's not he plays C.

I will say this though.... We haven't had a scoring threat like this since the Mailman.

Al doesn't really play C even if he's supposed to. He spends most his time outside the lane, even on defense.

A win is a win!

I'm suprised I watched the entire game, just when the Jazz were down 10 I was like oh crap and I started to fast forward my dvr. I thought Toronto owned us if they kept playing the zone cause they know we don't have very many good outside shooters, to their dismay CJ actuallye. played pretty good (FOR THIS NIGHT). Jefferson WAS ALL STAR BEAST as always. Very exciting finish Jazz!

FAVORS: hustled on the rebounds, really strong guy. Needs work offensively.
EVANS: tough guy after he landed on his bum when he got that block
HAYWARD: Had a nice block himself
FES: lost as usual (most exciting to watch on the bench as a cheerleader)
HARRIS: A little crazy with his shots but tough guy after hurting his ankle. Loved the hustle.

only disappointment is that I wanted to see Cousin play more

Anyone got an idea why Earl was in the game at the end as the SG? He cannot S.

Corbin essentially played 4 guards and Big Al the last 8 minutes. He decided he was going to break the zone by moving the ball around the perimeter and shooting jumpers. Not exactly the most efficient method; but it worked out so I guess he's a genius.

Watson brought the ball up in the set offense. I think he took one shot in the 4th and it looked like crap the second it left his hand.

He has a decent mid range shot and can disrupt with his length on defense, I think he has a future.

Corbin needed a guy to play the four in the motion offense the Jazz employ to beat the zone. Favors doesn't know it, Fes is useless in it, and Evans isn't good enough for it. Miles came in and shot from the baseline to the middle in the beginning of the set, and that motion started to break down the zone, leading to better shots. It was a great move, especially since Corbin went zone himself to cover the mismatch.

I think Evans can have a career similar to Jerome "Junkyard Dog" Williams. They're about the same size only Evans has a lot more hops.

A lot of hustle plays, pesky defense, the occassional put back, deflection, block.... You won't see him in the set offense breaking any one down; but a solid role player.

Fair point.....but better shots? Toronto was giving Utah open looks from 3 all night. Jazz just finally started making them.
