Utah Jazz vs. Atlanta Hawks (6pm MST/9pm Puerto Ricoooo time)

Isn't that what practice is for ? Anyway i don't disagree in principle, i just find it odd when someone who doesn't particularly move the needle as far as the team's fortunes present or future goes plays ahead of him.

You mean like raja bell, Josh Howard, cj miles, randy foye, and Richard Jefferson? I feel your pain bro.

So glad Superboy Howard is not on the team. He doesnt ever seem to care or play at 100%. Not since his Magic days at least.
I remember we were beating the Lakers or Houston badly a while back, and he was just laughing on the sidelines.

He is a loafer that is all about his name, and image.

Rudy is still hungry....

Every time Howard misses a shot, he stands there and sulks for about 3 seconds - just awful.

The guy hasn't worked hard since his last year in Orlando.

Rudy is quietly having am amazing year. His affect on the game is so much more than what shows up in the box score.

Hill is just what this team needs. With him and Rudy on the court we always have a chance.

Great game from Hayward. Looked strong, athletic, confident, and decisive.

Put me in the "exum should get most of the back up pg minutes and definitely more minutes than mack" camp. And I'm what would be considered an exum hater.

Did I hear boler saying that Burks is close!!!!! Don't tease/troll me like that.

Put me in the Exum camp, but we have to look at the bigger picture. I think coach is trying to show Exum that he is much better than this. By sitting him it gives Coach Q a chance to coach him up and light a fire. Right now Exum needs to sit and recognize his talent, and how good he can be. I had noticed his efforts on defense has slipped. I think Coach Q is trying to chase away bad trends before they become bad habits.

Deron got benched for a far less worthy player then Mack. It was a call to wake Derons *** up Deron responded the right way, will Exum?

And Deron held a grudge against Sloan for his entire stay with the Jazz, which eventually led to Sloan retiring mid-season and Deron being traded.

Sloan didn't retire because Deron was angry about being benched. He was angry about the direction the team was going in, and more about him pouting about losing his buddy and the team sucking. He even admired it was a mistake to not have tried better to make it work with Sloan. Even though he said he was always upset with his benching he also said it made him a better player and respected Sloan for making him a better player

I don't have a problem with a coach trying to make a point by setting a player's *** on the bench when he screws up. But he needs to enforce it uniformly for all players in every game. You can't let a Diaw go through the motions, while punishing Gobert or Exum for doing the same.

Point is, like it or not, Sloan got the most out of Deron. Coach Q is trying to do the same with Exum. He knows better then we do. Let him coach he knows better then we do. Yes I know we are fans and prone to be idiots.

I disagree. Players aren't treated the same. Gobert and Exum should be held to a higher standard. As the future leaders of this team. They want to be the best at their positions, so they need tough love as young players trying to figure things out. And I don't see Diaw just going through the motions. He's in the twilight of his career. He can't bring it like he used to.

Yeah, the same was said of Corbin.

I seriously wouldn't overreact to 1 game of reduced Exum minutes. Sometimes that's all it takes for a message to be delivered/received. Dante's a quick study, he'll be fine.

1 game?

It's 2. And they were both blowouts.

Yeah 2 games, my bad. The message likely being sent is Quinn wants him at the FT line more, especially if his 3pt shot isn't falling, it's not a big deal.

Also I noticed in the opening games that Exum and Diaw are slightly redundant. It's possible that has something to do with his reduced minutes and the uptick in Diaws play the last 2 games(though obviously he was long overdue)

Hill is just such a perfect match for the Jazz. Don't get why some folks worry about Exum, as long as we have Hill and Gobert on the Jazz we will be making playoffs every freaking year.

Yeah, the same was said of Corbin.

If Corbin was still the coach, Exum wouldn't have started any games after Hill got injured, then once hill got back, Exum would've gone back to his assumed role under Corbin which would've been a bench wormer. So I'm not sure how the two correlate.

It's not 1 game. It's 2nd game and from Quin's remarks after the game it seems like he's set on a rotation and Exum is out of it ... for now...

Yeah, and it's not like this was some big surprise, with the way Quin has overused Mack. I kind of expected it. Hopefully Exum steps up his game when he gets a chance to play, but this really doesn't look good right now. Dante just missed an entire season, and he really needs the minutes to develop.

Have the jazz had any close games so far this year? I can't think of any that were within like 3 or so points in the final minute.

We are generally winning by more than we are losing, but not many close games.

2 games within 5 points with 2 minutes left, Griz and Blazers. Lost both.

2 minute report, there were 2 bad calls, both favored the Jazz. So the whole "we got screwed by the refs" narrative is gone (so far).
