Officially no foul was called. The ref's explanation seems to be that Hood kicked out his feet without being touched. That's the ref's 'call' for me, it's his take on the situation from the angle that he saw.


My point is if the other 2 refs had a better angle on the foul, they should have pulled that ref aside and discuss the call & reverse it. They didn't. Therefore, to me they are as guilty as the ref who made the 'no call' call.
 
Last night showed how weak the Jazz bench is. I have always been a big fan of Green, not just because he went off last night. He always seems to play well against the Jazz. I wanted the Jazz to sign him as a free agent because he is a guy who can get his own shot. Nice effort overall from the Jazz but they just couldn't make the big play when needed.
 
I've been saying this for a few years now, but the NBA needs another ref on the court. This game is played way too fast to be correctly officiated by 3 people anymore.

Not true.
Charlotte was never considered a contender. Making the playoffs in the east (or just getting into playoffs in the west) does not make a team a contender.
 
I don't know why I'm even responding to this but the expectations and roles for Booker and Kanter are not and never where thought to be the same. Booker was brought in as insurance in case Gobert wasn't ready to play big minutes so Enes and Favors could play more at the 5, if Kanter (more his agent IMO) would've been accepting and willing to play as the 3rd big and not throw a fit then the would've been more then happy to keep Kanter as he offensively is better and still has potential. However I think his agent poisoned Kanter and made his decision for his client that he would never play for Utah and rather than wait to the end of the season kept whispering to him until the tipping point of his comments that lead to the trade.

Anyway my point is good job on calling out Booker not being as good as Kanter nobody in their right mind thinks that and most would agree with you that is why Kanter was drafted 3rd overall, Booker has more hustle (which is what Jazz fans love) and athleticism which helps him on perimeter defense and most of all why do Jazz fans love him ATTITUDE his is great and he is a very good locker room guy.
 
I think the refs blew the last call. Blame Tony Brothers who was the head official and made the two review calls prior to that. Not that those were wrong, but this one was. It was obvious the Suns player banged into Hood's hip as he was shooting. But since neither team is in the playoff race and this game is not that important, plus on the Suns home court, the refs took the easy way out and made it a non call. Poor refereeing, that's all there is to it.
 
Clearly they got Hood with the body, and the defender wasnt going straight up. A lot of those dont get called at end of games. Unless the player shooting is Kobe Bryant.

The Suns are still in the playoff race. (albeit barely)
 
This game showed, however, that the Jazz are clearly better than Phoenix. If they had a more experienced PG that would've minimized the early TOs, they would've won by double digits going away. And on top of that Green is not going to always go off like he did. Without him being in a zone, the Suns lose by double digits

Now, now Tucker is at least 6'5" and most reports have him with 7'0" wingspan. More importantly Chuck Hayes style he is very, very strong and can body up with the best of them.

They showed a stat that the Jazz have had 17 losses (now 18) by 5 points or fewer. This with a new coach, starting a rookie PG and SG, having 6 players who get significant time in their 1st or second year.

This is a good point. We have a possitive point differential for the year even though we only have 34 wins.. meaning our lossess have been really close.

Again it makes me wonder what the league is going to do about getting these calls correct more accurately. This is a non call that you can agrue directly had an impact on who wins and losses. Silver seems like a much more progressive commish he has to take some significant steps so there's a lot less "my bads" coming from the league office.
