You're 100% correct that we are better/deeper than Portland even with the injuries, but containing Lillard is something that 28 other NBA teams struggle with as well. Much easier said than done.
 
Im expecting a win. I put it at a little better than 50% chance of a win.
Gobert playing too good so far. Looks healthy and ready to have a great season. Too deep. Jazz record better without hayward. Diaw and lyles looking good, and maybe even better than favors, next to gobert. Exum looks like real nba player. George hill is actually a very good nba point guard and huge upgrade from neto/burke/mack. Same ol' blazers team from last year basically but this aint your same ol' jazz team from last year.

Last year we threw Burke and Neto at Lillard on defence-- this year we have Hill and Exum.

It'll be a different game. Not having Hayward and Favors makes this unlikely, and we still need to work out a few kinks in terms of chemistry, but I'd be blown away if this was a blow-out. Likely to be a closer game IMO.

Their bigs are still trash and Diaw will buzzsaw them, I want our guards cutting/slashing all over the place, taking advantage of the ole defence from Trillard and CJMo

Hayward and Burks are confirmed out.

It sounds easy enough, and on paper we look good. Exum and Hill are big upgrades on defense.

I just think they have some sort of mental edge as well as better chemistry. We'll get there, but I doubt it's tomorrow.

This. That giant baby Leornard, Plumlee, Aminu, and always seem to out-hustle out bigs. Dame and CJ just **** all over us from outside.

I hate this match up, most teams in the NBA do too.

The key is to make Plumlee score. The Blazers do a really good job of running PNR with Lillard/McCollum for Plumlee. Teams over-help and Plumlee is a great passer on the roll. Think the key to beating Blazers is limit help defense and make their players score in non-spot up situations.
