Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

Aint **** going to happen today.

I remember things going haywire a few deadlines ago when we thought it would be quiet. I doubt any headline deals get done but a bunch of small deals will. I think we are closer to standing pat than making a big move.

I'm worried about u Lopo. It's looking more and more likely that the jazz don't make a trade. I told u to prepare for that scenario. Do me a favor and stay away from ledges today, and if u need some sympathetic ear to talk to, hopefully someone on jazzfanz will take pity on u. Good luck

Ehh, they might. They have a hug decision on Jokic coming up. They can make him a RFA this year and pay him or put it off and pay him the minimum again and he hits UFA.

Obviously they'd be stupid to disrespect him like that, so they are going to max him. That's going to put them in the LT unless they are able to move off salary. They got to figure out something either now or in the summer.

In the off chance that Denver deals a first, it won't be to the Utah Jazz. Even if it is a good deal for them, even if our front offices are besties. Their fans would straight up riot.

I've said all along the Jazz could get in on taking Denver's somewhat dead money next year for assets but it's possible they think they have a shot in 2018 FA.

Faried + 1st rnd pick for Johnson is obviously a good move for us, but I hardly see Denver going for that.

Highly doubtful.

Yeah, like a GM from another team is going to say "I've heard of this Hood guy, but we haven't really seen him play. Give him big minutes in the Memphis game so we can get a look at him." lol

I mean, they got to give it to someone. IDK how many teams have the expiring contracts to match and are willing to take on the future salary. But you are right, Utah wouldnt be one of their first choices.

The are happy with Lyles from what I hear, hes been holding up his end. Win-win ;)

I've vacillated and now I don't know if I think we should move anyone... doesn't seem like there are any good deals out there...

Yeah I remember my "Naw, I'm pretty happy with where Trey Lyles is headed, this is fine!" justification as Booker was killing it. Whatever keeps your head out of the oven. . .
