Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

I mean, they got to give it to someone. IDK how many teams have the expiring contracts to match and are willing to take on the future salary. But you are right, Utah wouldnt be one of their first choices.

Can you imagine the insane trade value of another Denver Nuggets pick traded to the Jazz would be? Get that pick, select someone surprising, put it up on NBA GM ebay. . .

WTF are you talking about?

I remember talking myself into Lyles being some sort of star and that us selecting him ahead of Booker was a pretty close call. Denver fans are now doing the same thing with Mitchell. I get it because I have been there with them.

I mean, the pick being the Nuggets pick isnt what made the picks valuable.

What has that got to do with me having my head in an oven? I dont gaf about Lyles, never did.

If Denver wanted Mitchell they would have taken him, the reason they didnt was because they had no interest in him, they wanted OG but as fate would have it they moved back one spot too many.

Something will happen in Cleveland at the buzzer. Weather we are involved is yet to be seen.

Never underestimate the silly power of superstition. The fact that the league refuses to trade picks 20-30 at this point because they may miss on a Gobert or Kuzma is beyond ridiculous.
Not superstition. The new luxury tax laws are discouraging overspending and putting a premium on stocking a bench with young talent instead of overpaid vets. Also think this year is supposed to be a pretty good one in terms of talent, same as last. So decent players can be found tbroughout the 1st round.

I didn't mean "you" specifically, I meant "you" as all of us.

Of course it is. Very few teams have the ability to nail a pick successfully late in the draft. The rest are playing with the claw machine in the lobby at Dennys.
It isn't. Teams arent hoping for those kind of hits (though I'm sure they would like them). The more realistic expectation is they can get cheap rotation players under long-term contracts w/ RFA rights at the end. Cheap labor w/ rights control is the main reason, not the potential of finding a star.
