Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

They got off that salary SO ****ING cheap!!!

IT must have been a nightmare and they HAD to move him.

Burks and Favs would have been better for them and we would have jumped at expirings and a 1st AND moving burks.

Wonder if they offered that for Rubio?

Cavs are awesome... I wouldn't have done Clarkson and Nance for expirings... they include a pick to get it done...

Absolutely dreadful trade for Cleveland. They must think Clarkson is the real deal. Wow, just Wow. I don't even understand why Cleveland is including their pick.
I disagree. They had to get rid of IT, they weren't going anywhere with him this year. In return they got Clarkson who can provide a helpful scoring load, and Nance who is a valuable piece and can really help Cleveland inside.

You dont get the salary implications then. This trade is so lobsided, Lakers should never have got off those contracts without giving uo something.

This is the worst trade I think I've ever seen. Good lord what is Altman thinking? http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=1-22368703
How so? Clarkson is a very good 6th man (15 pts). So is Nance (around 9/7).

This isn't the IT of last year. He's a shadow of his former self and a complete matador on defense. He has also been quick to criticize teammates and the coaching staff (Love for being sick and Lue for not making adjustments). Cavs upgraded the bench and got rid of a cancer. Frye barely plays, so no loss there.

They can stretch Deng now and basically get to two max slots... Cavs have just setup the Lebron to LAL.

LBJ and PG plus the Lakers young guys is better long term for PG than the Oklahoma City Westbrooks... LBJ plus PG and the lakers young guys is better than playing with the Cleveland Kevin Loves.

Lebron playing chess... Gilbert playing checkers.

Another big story is the Brooklyn pick is basically locked in now since the Cavs can't trade it due to the Stepian Rule. Can only do a swap or acquire another 1st to trade that.

Clarkson is the guy that scores a lot of points on a bad team... AB might be able to do something similar on a bad team. His contract is too long for what he is.

Clarkson is paid way too much for the value he provides. He's a mid-level type guy if that.

Of course I get the salary implications. Cleveland had to dump IT and the whole league knew it. Cleveland just is happy they got a piece back that can help them win this year.
