The Thriller

What crazy cold temperatures and winds!

The last few days on I-15 it has taken me over 1 hr to drive from about 106th south to Lehi Main. Crazy

Our neighbor lost 2 pines. I saw today on the news that a small car was trapped under a tanker truck in parleys. They survived and the truck thankfully didn't explode.

Anyone else have stories?

I went out for a smoke.

I thought "Damn, it's nippy"

I put on some wool Long Johns and went back out to finish my smoke.

I've been amazed at how mild the temps have been so far and how un-winterlike it has been.

The little bit of snow and cold has been like "what took you so long, old man winter?" for me.

Me too

It has been blowing 70+ mph down here for 48 hours straight. This happens maybe twice a year, and when it does, it is un-freaking-real. I'm posting this at 6:30 am not because I'm an early riser, but because the wall in my bedroom is shaking so bad, and thus shaking my headboard so bad, that I can't sleep.

Just a quick update to this amazing wind: five tiles are missing from my roof and my 400 lb boat that was on the side of my house is now in the middle of my yard.

Good ol' Huuuurrrricuuuun; who would've thought?

I stuck a library book on top of the car with my wiper holding it down so I could find my key and that sucker flew like down the road into a big juicy puddle of soft ice the second I let it go. Had to be the one book of the bunch that was worth about $150 too.

That's what you get for reading. Dummy.

A photog is claiming that a herd of Elk froze yesterday at Echo Lake west of Vernal.

So cold here in my town that ice has been forming on the insides of people's windows in their homes.

So much for global warming, huh?

Sorry, had to say it.

Was legit the coldest I have ever been in my life walking to the car from the Utes game last night.

Wind was blowing like 100 mph, couldn't feel my face, think I would have died if I was out there for 5 minutes longer. Probably how wisconsin and Minnesota folk feel on the daily.

Yup, working out in it. The temp gauge in my truck said 11 degrees when I got to work yesterday and today.

I heard from a pretty reliable source that Gary Andersen (and his family) absolutely hated the weather in Wisconsin. I don't know how big of a role that played in his decision to leave, but just thought I'd throw it out there. Carry on with the thread...
