Marcelinho Huertas to sign with a Western Conference team?
According to Ismail Senol, Huertas has signed in NBA

According to Ismail Senol, Brazilian point-guard Marcelinho Huertas has agreed to a deal with a Western Conference team. Huertas had a deal in place with Galatasaray but asked for more time to evaluate NBA opportunities. It's still unclear for which NBA team Huertas will play and which kind of deal has signed.

Marcelinho Huertas, NBA'de bir Batı Konferansı takımıyla anlaştı. Galatasaray'ın oyun kurucu için hedefleri Jerome Dyson ve Errick McCollum.

It might be one of those situations when a player is using us as leverage, but who knows?

I thought the Tribune said the Jazz were at the training camp maximum.

I think we are at 19. We can carry up to 20 players in training camp. Only two teams in the western conference have capspace to sign Huertas - Utah and Portland. If another team is thinking about it, they would need to use various exceptions and will be limited in the amount they can pay him.

Definitely wanted this guy. If we can get him, trade Trey and sweetener for Olynyk.

Huertas had a strong showing vs Team USA in the 2012 Olympics.

I like his chances at shooting decent %'s much more than Neto.

He's declined in the last couple of years, but still has great vision and passing ability. Watching him in the World championship last year was kind of frustrating - way too many flashy plays that got punished by opponents. I kind of liked Neto better on that Brazil team(might have been bias on my part). But Huertas is definitely the better shooter. Neto is much better defender, though.

Hm, I might have missed somebody. I thought we were at 19. But yah... they would cut somebody if they want Huertas in.

Goddammit. 2 of my favorite teams are contending for the same player. What are the ****ing chances?

Booker, Burke, Burks, Cooley, Cotton, Exum, Favors, Gobert, Graham, Hayward, Hood, Ingles, Jerrett, Johnson, Lyles, Millsap, Neto, O'Brien, Pleiss, Withey is 20.

I had to list them all out to make sure too, though.

I'd rather have Cotton over this guy.

Why? Cotton is small and inefficient offensive player who doesn't pass and is extremely limited defensively. If he played as much as Trey, we would be looking at him with the same sentiments. I'd take Huertas over him for 1-2 seasons any day. I'd also take Burke over him to be fair.

I just liked what I saw at the end of the season last year. He was quick around the court. He makes the right pass when needed. He's more accurate from 3 than Burke was. He's also surprisingly athletic and bouncy. I just think he has all the tools if his passing is the only concern I can live with that. I think he has a good chance at becoming like an Isiah Thomas type player down the line.

They could always release one of the non-guaranteed deals.

The Sixers are eyeing him, but I wouldn't mind Utah making a run at Kendall Marshall for a PG spot. He had a good run with the Lakers (especially against the Jazz) and was a solid back-up for the Bucks before getting injured. I always liked his size and skills and thought he would be good in a Jazz uni.

He tore his ACL in January, is he even going to be ready to play in training camp if he got signed to a team?
