Utah's Illegal Immigrant List

To me, why even give out this list in the first place?

Why not create and distribute a list of companies that are hiring illegal immigrants? Why a list of men, pregnant women, and children? Instead of making threatening phone calls, how about we boycott those businesses, demand that laws be enforced, and basically force businesses to abide by the law?
If businesses cannot employ illegally, and illegals cannot find jobs here, then they'll stop coming and go back to their own countries.

Instead of asking those of darker skin pigmentation to show their papers, why not ask businesses to show that they are employing legally?

I think both this list and the AZ law misses the point completely. We don't need to attack races or individuals with this issue. Attack the reason why they're coming here. Attack businesses that are breaking the law. Is it because Republicans want to come across as "tough against illegals" while still allowing their buddies in the private sector go about as business as usual?

It all seems pretty hypocritical to me. IF the AZ governor really wanted to get tough on illegal immigration, she'd crack down on AZ's private sector which is creating such a demand for illegals. Think about all those golf courses, construction companies, hotels, and restaurants that are breaking the law. Of course, perhaps some of them contribute the most to her campaign. Hypocrisy anyone?

She'd also create stricter laws for substance abuse while increasing funding of education and prevention.

But that's just my way of seeing things. What do you guys think?

In other words THEY TOOK our JEWB

First, with the trillions of dollars spent accross the world you would think we could have spent a few hundred million and built a quality fence with checkpoints that would have solved the issue of harmful illegal immigration years ago.

a fence can be climbed over be digged under and even go through it

so if these "illegals" make a 4 hour journy a fence will only prolong their journey for a couple of minutes or at most an hour hmmm nice solution there einstein. prolonging their journey will have less immigrants

you deserve the nobel price for something

I also find it quite ironic that many of the people are acting in such an aggressive manner towards illegal aliens would consider Ronald Reagan to be a great president and in some cases a "hero". If they did some research they would find that Reagan actually had some very progressive policies and if I'm not mistaken (and I'm not) actually granted amnesty in 1986 to illegal immigrants.

also reagon can be considered an some sort of an anarchist.

using the word anarchist loosely. and i dont mean anarachis as in jokers anarchy:P. but the good form of anarchism

Good point, Dutch.

I've got a better idea. We should build a railroad across the border, and promise them citizenship when they arrive.

After they get here, instead of welcoming them to the country, we'll just put them on a return train back into the Mexico.

Suckas.

As I mentioned a high tech wall with check points, not some chain link fence. Trust me, if we were serious about it could be a major deterrent. The point is to make it easier to enter the country legally rather than illegally.

It seems everyone is taking for granted that the problem is that people are here illegally and that our immigrations system is proper, just needs to be enforced better. I wonder how/why many of you came to that conclusion? That's not the conclusion I've come to, at all.

I still wonder why people think that it is enforcement of our current policy that needs to be addressed and not the policy itself. To whomever gave me a neg rep and called me a hack, I invite your response most of all.

If we expanded our legal immigration quota we would have more people here following the laws, paying taxes, not being a burden. So why no go that route?

How is it that we as a population "own" opportunity and basic liberty? I have a very hard time turning a human being away who wants to flee injustice and live in peace and liberty.

I think a huge reason people have a problem with overwhelming immigration is our unjust social entitlement programs. Of course I want these unjust programs eliminated (food stamps and welfare type programs). That way anyone who comes here would be doing so with the understanding that they would need to stand on their own two feet. That's how you make sure the "right" kind of people are coming in, not a damn fence. Give me a ****ing break with that ****.

seriously how long does it take to climb a fence. or dig under it. the fences the us builds can even be CUT through with some sort of cutter?

woudl you rather spent your money on a solution that clearly doesnt work?

Sorry, dude, this made me crack up.

Do you really not know the "hack" guy? hint = shorty

Serious.

Yeah, but since I'm generally pro open-boarders and specifically anti-hating-on-Mexicans I didn't figure it was him, but a person attempting to use him as cover.
