What's new

Very common cultural things you are ignorant to, haven’t done, or don’t understand references for, that most would.

I've come to hate Australian Football, or what is more accurately known as the Victorian game. Its socially a significant faux pas here in Victoria, where everybody is supposed to have a team. Every year for the last 20 years they've changed the rules and made the game unrecognisable from what it was.

Damn man!!! The older bond movies are the ultimate guy movies

This is like a ride of passage becoming of age Jazz fan kinda thing I think

I haven’t eaten any kind of red meat since 2022
Just for the record, my mom can't stop laughing at your very small penis. She said you will never be half the man your mom is. Maybe you should resume eating red meat. Worth a try.

I will never understand any human over the age of 16 wearing any article of clothing with a cartoon or anime character. I immediately judge them as having very limited value to society. Grown men wearing jerseys are very close. As well as any women over 30 wearing "Pink" merchandise. Nothing worse than an overweight 50 YO lady with a big *** and "Pink" stretched across. I feel like this is a Utah tradition.

I don’t eat red meat because of arthritic issues to a point I can’t walk

Wtf is anime? Joke’s on you.

I own one jersey, got it on my 13th birthday a Stockton jersey haven’t warn it since I was a kid.

Your mom loves me, and if you’re not careful, you’ll be calling me Pappy, but don’t worry. I’ll make a man out of you yet, son!!

Im sorta with you on the wearing the jersey thing, I'll add a stipulation, I think its ok if they are wearing a jersey and their kids are too, also wear colour to the football (soccer) is acceptable. Otherwise its basically the realm of wankers, almost every Australian male over the age of 16 you see in a jersey at an AFL game, is an obnoxious, wife beating, drunk with a criminal record or is on their way to joining that cohort.

i'm just indifferent to it these days. Went to the G yesterday to a game. The flair and risk has been taken / coached right out of the game. It's a lot less violent, very few spectacular clashes, very few kicking to a man on man contest. They're just all endurance athletes who run all game and kick 20 m short passes 325 times a game.

Yeah its definitely a runners game and the violence of our youth is non existent. Back in the day when getting hurt was part of the game, not cause for a 1 month suspension. Ive not watched a game in full for lie 8 years.

i still try from time to time but it's often tedious and boring. And the players are pretty unskilled

Its been the trend for years, drafting athletes over players, draft athletes at 17 try to teach them how to play, if they can't delist them and move on. The midseason draft was brought in to pick up the 17 year olds they missed at 21/22 who've developed in the VFL/SANFL/WAFL who can actually play a bit.

Im dying to know

Its a style of Japanese animation, some of it can be pornographic. I remember years ago getting the train into the city and standing between me and my mate was two girls and a small Asian lad, the two girls kept looking at me and my mate, from where I was standing I couldn't see what the little Asian guy was doing, turns out he was watching anime porn all the way into town on a packed 8am commuter train.

I don’t wear jerseys but I do still have a T shirt that is sort of in jersey style that’s Rick Vaughn. It’s not precisely this but similar:

It’s over 10 years old and I rarely wear it.

I have been considering getting a custom late 90s Jazz jersey made with Rony Seikaly’s name on it and wearing it to Jazz games. Does that count?

The worst is when someone is wearing a jersey top of a player that hasn't been on the team in 8 years and isn't remembered fondly by the real fan base.
