This thread goes all day with no replies, but HH's threads get attention? I feel shame.

Echo what PKM said, 100%. Going to my Grand Dad's tonight; Sloan made him something for Veterans Day.
 
Thirded. I wish the country was more deserving of the people who serve it, but that does not detract from the sacrifice.
 
I can't rep this thread enough. I have major respect for those in the Armed Services and who've served. My dad and three different grandfathers all did and I truly believe I and those in their lives were better off for it.
 
My Pops and brother-in-law are. Pops put in some work in Vietnam and my BIL got down in Iraq. Support vets hard.
 
Thnx American vets for inadvertently helping the lives of many throughout the decades, particularly the lives my relatives living in Kosovo during the late 1990s. Roads named after American military officials and bronze statues of Bill Clinton punctuate the streets-- your sacrifices won't be forgotten by them.

Awesome post, Dala.
 
Today made me thin of my grandparents, who have all died. Three of the four served in WW2, one was shot down in a helicopter, one was a nurse, and the other was a welder for the army. Their folded flags and medals are on display at my parents house and they never fail to raise my emotions. I sure do miss them and will be forever grateful for their sacrifices.

This are a few pictures I took at the war museum in Pristina, the capital city of Kosovo, just a few months ago.

There's an entire wall there of articles from a bunch of newspapers like the New York Times, chronicling the events of the war from week to week. It's enthralling.


There's probably not another country in the world (outside the US) that loves America as much as they do.
 
I hate vets. How can you refer to yourself as being a member of a humane society when you murder so many of gods creatures? I don't understand why they don't simply neuter them and let them go.:p

The seal is perfectly illuminated for about one minute on Veterans Day every year. Memorial in Anthem, AZ.
 
Grandpa Haas served. I never got to know him as he died 36 years ago this month. I have an uncle that served in Nam. I have a cousin currently serving as a Battalion Commander stationed at Fort Carson. He's one of my heroes.
