VICTORY!!! Government to change policy on "race at birth"

I have no idea what the discussion is really all about, and I don't want to get mired in it - - but I did think the thread title was sort of amusing

it reminded me of a bumper sticker we used to have that said "Government studies conclude that research causes cancer in mice"

The point of the thread is sexism. Just like how this thread I created was made to appear racist.....very racist. Lets say I believe that I should have been born African American. So I die my skin black, die my hair black, etc. I then expect everyone in the world INCLUDING African Americans to view me and accept me as such. This is extremely racist.

Now lets look at the other thread. Say I believe that I should have been born a woman. I cut off my genitals, grow my hair long, get breasts implants, take some hormones, etc. Now I expect the whole world INCLUDING all females to accept me as a woman. This is extremely sexist. To say that all a man has to do to become a woman is cut off his genitals and put on a dress is very demeaning to women.

Oh ok... I get it now. hahahaha thanks man.

You should stick to not sucking.

Another person who tells me I suck but does not given any type of real feedback. If you dont agree with something I wrote. Specify what it is. Throw this with the other Trout/YB responses.

Man up and tell me what you dont agree with.

hahaha, such poignant "satire"

y'know, call me crazy, but you don't come across as the kind of guy who's looking to have an honest discussion about trans issues here

and the fact that this thread is racist far beyond what you're supposing is a little creepy to me

I gave you way too much credit. Wow.

My two-year old cousin has better satire ability than Beantown.

Stupidity isn't satire.

I know tons of people are butt hurt over this but I LOLd when I read it. Agree with it or not I thought it was a funny start to my day. I'm not going to get into what I think about the LPGA issue but the op was funny albeit offensive to the liberal crowd around here. I understand why you're upset but some people take some things way to seriously. Myself included.

On a side note. LOL.

I really want to know why people don't think me cutting off my genitals and calling myself a woman is not sexist and demeaning to women.

Beantown,

I will start with a small list. Let me know if you need more.

1. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. You don't demean something by a genuine desire to become it.
2. Your depiction of changing gender has only a very small portion of what is involved in actually changing your gender. It's similar to depicting marriage by saying you use the same toothbrush holder.
3. Unless you are going to say any sort of plastic surgery, even removing a mole, is demeaning, the basic point of the surgury is to change your physical body to match the ideal you have in your mind. We all try to change to improve ourselves.

Let me know if any of this confused you.

One brow, if I thought I should of been born African American and I dyed my skin and hair dark. Then I proclaim all African Americans should accept me as such. You would not find that racist?

Because it is not damaging to women nor does it express a negative opinion of women.

I think you're confusing surgical reassignment with the concept of blackface. The implications of which are pretty different.

But seriously:

Instead of speaking for women, why don't you let them speak for themselves...I'm sure if they're offended they'll say so.

One Brow, ... You would not find that racist?

I find your process ignorant of what it means to be black, delusional in the notion that such a proclamation accomplishes something, and a very poor analogy for gender reassignment surgery. So, while your process might qualify as racist for the first two reasons, it's not relevant to this discussion for the third.

I find your post a sorry attempt to dodge the list you specifically asked for, rather than address it. I am not saying I expected a different response from you.

I find your process ignorant of what it means to be black,

I find your process ignorant of what it means to be female.

Its both racist and sexist to assume changing your physical features can make you either a gender or race you want to be. Its also ignorant to push that very group of humans to accept you as one of them just by manipulating your body to appear like them.
