I'm not holding my breath on the "720" or whatever it's gonna be called. Microsoft has really become a company who's all about the gimicky features and multimedia and less about games. Maybe microsoft will change but I doubt it...

Probably gonna go with the Xbox for those very reasons. To each his own, but what you described more fits my familys wants
 
Console wars have always seemed a little strange to me because I've always felt that true game belongs on a pc

I agree. I used to be a console gamer then I switched to PC and did that for 10+ years but nowadays I don't really feel like ordering parts and building a pc or buying an overpriced prebuilt.

Eh. I expect I'll probably need to spend another $100 anyway on peripherals like an extra controller, and possibly a bigger harddrive than it comes with.

As for the titles, what I've seen hasn't excited me. There are some big franchise names, like Assassin's Creed and Battlefield, but I'm still pretty 'meh' on all of it. A new InFamous game could be interesting, but on the other hand I liked the first one but didn't like the second one at all.

It's sad because the PC *could* offer possibilities not even remotely possible on a console but almost all big releases are dumbed down for cross-release on consoles. A recent exception, SimCity, which released only on PC has absolutely fallen on it's face. SimCity was the first game I spent my own money on back in the early 90s. I love that franchise. I see the future in this release, though. That and the XCOM game. It's not pretty.

There's five games and their soundtracks there, but if you pay more than the average going price (currently $5.68) you get an additional two games. Hard to argue with basically getting each game for a dollar.

BTW, for you Borderlands 2 players, the 4th DLC campaign (and last free one for the season pass) is available today. It looks way better than the first three DLCs. Much more original, much more creative, funny, and a lot more new enemies and such that aren't just re-skins. And I just love the whole concept they went for.

Just picked up Bioshock, Infinite. The original Bioshock was my all time favorite game. The second was was pretty bland. I've heard this is the best of the bunch and cannot wait for the sun to go down and start logging some hours with this bad boy! First time I had a Big Daddy charge me was ****ing awesome! Scared the **** out of me.
