W/ Lakers going to deal players, should Jazz make a move on any of them?

Gasol may be soft, but he's a stud. To me, calling him soft sounds like one of those things people say enough that it becomes conventional wisdom. I'm highly skeptical. Before he arrived in LA, Kobe and the Lakers didn't get past the second round. A few years later, they have 3 finals appearances and 2 titles. He was the difference maker. Who in their right mind wouldn't want Gasol?

This.

Would the Lakers be interested in Jefferson, Miles, and the GS pick for Gasol? Would you be?

No! I'm sick of AK's ayyyyiiii yell and wouldn't be able to stand Gasol yelling every time he shoots the ball or gets touched.

Gasol could be really good in the Jazz offense but just looked at his contract. Yuck, around 19 mil per year for the next three years. Add to the fact he is already 31 and his D and overall play is very suspect at times.

Giving up GS pick too, not a chance I would do it

The Jazz were interested in Shannon Brown this past offseason, I would take him.

Bynum and Favors would be a monstrous frontcourt. Most analysts agree Bynum could easily score 18 points a game as a primary option instead of being the third or fourth. Yes his knee problems are there but he never had a major injury like Jefferson had (ACL). What would it take to get it done? Probably both picks and Okur.

If the Lakers make a major deal with the Jazz, the Jazz will not come out on the better end of it. History proves that when the Lakers look to rebuild - they win the trade.

Also LA is not just going to move Pau because they think he's soft or Bynum because he doesn't fit in. They're going to hold out for someone who can play a prominant role on a championship-caliber team - and last I checked Jefferson and Miles don't fit the bill.
The only realistic option I've seen mentioned is Shannon Brown - and like someone mentioned - If Utah was that interested in him they would've shown him more interest last summer instead of giving 3 years and $10 million to Raja Bell.

I wouldn't want Gasol on our team as it is now. Sure he can score on anyone in the low-post, but don't we have that in Jefferson already? I'm not saying Jefferson=Gasol, I'm saying there are much bigger needs for this team than a all-star caliber PF/C when you can argue that we already have one and potentially two. Call me out on this if you want but I actually think Jefferson is a better defender than Gasol from just my perspective. I haven't gone into stats or anything to really find out. But my biggest reason is Jefferson is 25 and Gasol is 30. Al fits into our future plans better in my opinion, and obviously we would have to give up more than Jefferson in a Gasol swap.

I'd take Gasol over Jefferson straight up no question. His age is an issue but Jefferson will never be as good as Gasol in my opinion. I'm assuming away contract size. Again Lakers were going nowhere until Gasol got there. I don't buy that he's soft. He's been a key cog in two championships and one other finals run. If that's soft I'll take it any day.

Agreed, he's talented but makes too much money over hte next 3 or 4 years. I hope Utah takes it's chances with Big AL, Favors, and Millsap(you like that Favors Flave...Millsap)

through the 90's and early 00's utah used to be known as physical thugs, playing scrappy, (other teams called it cheating, dirty, etc.)
only recently has utah become panzies who let players dunk on them over and over.

and fisher was a local hero before he fled the scene, so i dont buy that their playing style wouldn't fly here.

Bynum, Odom, Fisher, Kobe, and Artest are all dirty aholes who would never get away with their thuggery and cheating if they tried that playing for Utah.
From what I've seen, Gasol might make a good addition, but I wouldn't support a team with any of those other guys.

We don't need a 3rd class Kardashian at our games. Its Kim, Kourtney, or bust. Mrs. Odom (Kloe) is not good guys. Heck even the mom is better and we don't want her either.

Why do we want Bynum again?

We already have one center who's injured (memo). Why would we want another one?

Are we living in some bizarro world where injured players that never play on the court actually contribute more than healthy ones? In that case, AK47 and Boozer would be a part of the Dream Team and Karl and John would be known as embarrassments to the game.

Could you imagine the kickass lineup we could have? Raul Lopez, Curtis Borch, AK47, Carlos Boozer, and Memo?

Oh come on! Mrs. Odom isn't that bad...

The public is a fn moron.

Would you do Jefferson and Bell for Bynum? It would save us 2.1M next year and 2M the year after.

Nope, not even with a draft pick. Too big of a risk with his Knees. At the end of the season wasn't he getting his knees drained after games and weren't they holding him out so he didn't hurt them anymore? I'd much rather go after Hibbert then Bynum. But I like Jefferson better then Hibbert aswell

Absolutely. And I'm one of AJ's supporters on this site. Bynum's injuries are a huge concern but he's bigger and a better defender than Jefferson. Bynum and Favors next to each other could be a spectacular front line. Bell is worthless.
