Walker Kessler?

A few rumors out there for walker. He wasn't Hardys man last year and doesn't fit with Collins.

Would you do Walker Kessler for a top 5 pick in this draft? I think Kessler is better than Cling Clong right now no question and a proven prospect.

Pick up an intl wing with the first pick (whoever falls) or Stephon Castle and Edey who can stretch the floor to replace Walker with #10?

If we can do Walker/29/32 for 9/39 then I think you could finesse your way into the #3 pick by offering 9 or 10 and a 2025 pick next year (maybe you can make it top 10 protected or make it the lesser of the Cavs and Minny pick to protect yourself).

if they chose john over walker, i will be pretty upsest. i hate john at the C because he's tiny, and he's kind of old for the process. at best he should be a backup c, but he's not paid as one. the only way i want to keep john is if he ADAPTS to playing the PF, but i think he would have if he could have. while i like his personality, i don't think he's going to put the team over the top. as for walker, he's young, his ceiling is still above him, and he's a cheap contract for now, i hope this is a smoke screen.

It’s not about Kessler vs Collins though.

Ainge has an image of a Championship winning tea, in his mind.

He’ll trade anyone or make the necessary deals to get the team he wants.

I doubt neither Collins or Kessler are in the Championship winning team he has in mind.

People are pretty low on this draft. I think Walker and the 29th gets you a lot higher than 12 - 16 in a historically weak draft.

Walker is a young proven player that was top 5 in his class. No one is guaranteed to have that in the top 5 in this draft.

That is a quick no for me. There is no way I am giving up Walker, 10, 29, 32 and another first for a top 3 pick. In this draft the talent difference between 1 and 10 is the smallest I have ever seen.

We would offer 9 OR 10 plus the worst of firsts in 2025 between minny and cleveland. So you end up swapping Walker, 29/32, 2025 first (with low upside) and you end up having 3 and 9 or 3 and 10... so you can grab Castle and whatever wing falls to 9/10 or maybe you grab Castle and Edey.

My bad. I ready it quickly and thought you said 9 and 10. I would still probably pass on that though but that is because I really like a bunch of the players projected in that late 1st and early 2nd range.

And I’d probably keep him if I felt like the FO and coaches believed in him more.

You misstated me. I said above that I thought Kessler was probably able to get a 12-16 pick. There was no mention of spicing the trade with 29 too. Of course that would somewhat improve what we could get in return.

I see Cling Clong as a similar prospect to Walker Kessler. So, I think teams wanting to trade up to get Cling are probably as happy or happier with Kessler.

What would it take to trade for the 3rd - 7th pick to grab Donovan Clingan?

Clingan is a far better player. No one is going to prefer Kessler. For one, like I said, Clingan is far better. Two, Walker only has tow years left on his rookie deal, Clingan will have 4.
