War With N. Korea?

Veering off-topic, but what percentage of taxpayers qualified for the top marginal rate then as compared to now? If liberals knew some of these lil tie bits from history maybe they wouldn't so boastfully parrot Rachel Maddow in screaming "91%!! 91%!!" Congrats, Thriller, on over-simplifying and sticking to your team's talking points. The good news for you is that most people listening to you are too dumb or lazy to question your "facts".

Or only see his posts because someone quotes them.

"North Korea has warned foreign embassies in Pyongyang that it cannot guarantee their safety from the threat of conflict after 10 April, and has advised them to consider pulling their staff out of the capital"

The use of a specific date strikes me as new. I know they are constantly threatening but to use a specific date? Is the North Korean leader painting himself into a corner he cannot get out of short of military action agains tthe U.S and S. korea?

Ona side note I recently saw a made that showed the general locations of US forces in Japan, Guam, Okinawa and the surrounding waters. If that was reversed and China had those forces of our coasts I'd be pissed. Just saying.

Here's the English feed of the Korean Central News Agency, North Korea's propaganda arm. Might be interesting to follow until things cool down:

Unintentional humor is off the charts.

This whole thing stinks of a publicity stunt by N Korea.

They have a new, young leader looking to posture and make a name for himself amongst his people. Making it look like the U.S. is out for blood and looking to attack N. Korea only sets him up to take credit when nothing happens and the U.S. leaves the Korean Peninsula.

"Strong N. Korean Leader, Kim Jong Un, wards off evil U.S. forces with military might!"

I can see it now....

And the the talkie no walkie takes another jump up:

If I say I can hurt you....and I keep repeating it every day; I'm going to have to hit you eventually, right? Even if I have no arms and weigh 14 lbs. Especially when I'm starting to attach specific dates/days to my threats. Before you call my bluff and just smack the **** out of me? It seems slightly more interesting all of the sudden.

I just have to ask, are you a bowling ball? Cause I went bowling the other night and that description fits what I rolled pretty well.

Don't lie. I was there. I overheard you struggling to tell your bowling crew that the reason you were using the 6 lb pink ball again was because you consider only one month of breast cancer awareness to be futile. They weren't buying it.

Crap, you're on to me... Actually, I am a substitute bowler in a league. Every time I get called into action our team loses because I suck. I have a 66 pin handicap (a good bowler will be in the 20's or 30's). But last time I went I got on a roll in my second game and rolled a 215 before my handicap (281 with it). The guy I bowled against is a great bowler and he rolled a 235 without his handicap (255 with it) and lost. Sucks to roll a 235 and still lose. I felt so bad I almost gave him the point.

Back to the topic of the thread, I hope that things with North Korea don't get out of hand. I have 6 plane tickets (me, my wife and 4 kids) to Hokkaido Japan leaving at the end of May...

Basically the pentagon claims that N. Korea can attach a nuke to a missle. Granted with low accuracy. However, i f true that is a major step for N. Korea.

Is this a game changer?

I'd say it's evidence that each of these incidents are not the same. N. Korea is progressing towards...something.

If the U.S. military is still being led by the same kind of folks who thought Vietnam and Iraq were good places to send our troops, and who almost started a Nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis, we could be dragged into something deeper than anyone outside our military leadership wants. Kim Jong Un might think he's bluffing, but find himself on the wrong side of some good ol' fashion 'Merican shock and awe one day.
