Warrior watch 2012

I'm sure many of us will be paying close attention to what happens with this team this year. Lots of rumors going on right now in regards to trades and free agency. I'll start with the following.

Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports that the Hornets talks with the Warriors regarding Chris Paul are "definitely cooling" because of the Warriors' refusal to deal Stephen Curry.
This may not outright eliminate the Warriors from the CP3 equation, but it certainly sounds like they're becoming an unlikely suitor. Other teams that continue to be linked to Paul are the Celtics (and Rajon Rondo) and the Clippers (who could deal Eric Gordon).

The Warriors, sources said, have made Chandler their No. 1 roster target -- no matter what happens with their recent trade talks with the New Orleans Hornets about Chris Paul --- and join the Houston Rockets on the list of teams to directly engage Chandler in the past 48 hours.

According to one source close to the situation, Chandler's deal from whoever wins the race to sign him will be at least $50 million over four years.

For those who don't already know, Utah has a 1st round pick owed to them by Golden State.

Top 7 protected for 2012 and 2013. Top 6 protected in 2014. If we don't qualify for it in 2014 then we get the Warriors' 2nd rounder in 2014 and 2016.

Its a good thing that the Clippers matched the Warriors offer for DeAndre Jordan. I want the Warriors to do alright, but not THAT good. Begging for them to finish 11th in the West

I'm very glad GS missed out on Chandler and Jordan. Things are looking great for us at this point.

The Indiana Pacers have agreed to send shooting guard Brandon Rush to Golden State in exchange for forward Lou Amundson.

The Golden State Warriors have been awarded guard Ish Smith off waivers, the team announced today.

Smith, 23, spent last season with the Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies, appearing in 43 games (three starts) and averaging 2.3 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 10.3 minutes per contest.

The Golden State Warriors have signed free agent forward Dominic McGuire, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

McGuire, 26, played with the Charlotte Bobcats last season, appearing in 52 games (eight starts) and averaging 3.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in 14.6 minutes per contest.

Ellis, Warriors Accused Of Sexual Harassment

A former employee of the Warriors is suing both the franchise and Monta Ellis for sexual harassment.

According to an email from the Law Offices of Burton F. Boltuch, the plaintiff will file the suit Wednesday morning in Oakland at the Superior Court of Alameda County.

The plaintiff is accusing Ellis of sexually harassing her from November of 2010 until January of 2011.

Boltuch claims his client has photo evidence of the harassment.

The identify of the accuser and the photos will be identified on Wednesday.

“You will be shocked when you see it,” Boltuch said. “It’s pretty disgusting and graphic.”

The Warriors are being accused of covering for Ellis.

Personally, I think the Warriors will have a better record than us and make the playoffs as the 7 or 8 seed. Ellis, Curry, Lee are solid pieces and I think Jackson, as many first year coaches often do, will get the guys excited and playing competitively every night. I also think Jackson's a smart guy and will help Ellis to develop his game into somewhat of a truer point guard. I think they'll be 34-32 and finish as the 7 or 8 seed.

This thread should be stickied.

Warriors looked like the Warriors last night. Half-court offense still blows. Andriens Biedrins has flashes of defensive paint dominance, but has too many fouls to stay on the court. Ellis and Curry can't coexist. Klay Thompson sucks. I predict a similar season to last year from what I saw last night. They will win enough games for us to keep the pick, but not enough to drive the pick out of the top 12.

The Warriors seem a little more focused and more keen on playing defense, but the personnel are the same, and the talent just isn't there in spots 3 - 5 to win consistently. Last night, they started this 'hack-a-DeAndre Jordan' strategy over and over because they couldn't score on him inside and tried to get him out of the game. This wasn't crunch time, but the middle of the 3rd quarter. Just pathetic.

Like Cyrone said, they're too good to flat-out tank without it looking strange, but people think they'll be in the 8 - 12 range of the lotto.

Beating the Bulls was impressive. I don't think we need to worry about losing the pick, at least. I think they'll be a little better than last year, but the constant ankle injuries to Curry will make them lose a few games they would have won. Everything seems to suggest we'll get a pick around #10 from them.

Just take that and be happy. Anything from 8 to 12.

Warriors lose Curry lol. His ankle looks like it will be a year long issue. Still think they have enough to talent to be out of the bottom 8.

Also, Boozer 6 & 3 vs. David Lee and Kwame Brown? lol

Looks like the lockout is going to make for some random outcomes to games early on.
