Any deal with the Jazz would likely have to include Barnes. There are just so many free agents the Jazz could offer money to rather than waste it on GSW's bad contracts.

That said, adding Barnes to the mix with our young players would be a step forward.
 
to be perfectly honest if Howard would commit to sign with the gsw. the jazz are the perfect trade partner.

gsw is sitting at about 71 mil.

to be able to offer Howard a max contract they would have to shed about 35 mil.

bogut - 14 mil
Richardson - 11 mill
biedrins - 9 mill
Barnes - 3 mill

that would have to be the trade.

gsw is left with

curry
Thompson, bazemore
rush, green
lee
Howard, ezeli, jones

they would need to bring in some more help. maybe with that line up they could convince jack or Landry back.

jazz would look like this

Burke,
Hayward, burks, McNeal
Barnes, Jefferson, Williams
favors, kanter, Evans
bogut, biedrins
 
If the Warriors are truly calling us then Lindsey better be saying that we will only take back one of these combinations...

Thompson, 2014 1st rounder unprotected and future 1st rounder unprotected, and Biedrins.

OR

Barnes, 2014 1st rounder unprotected and future 1st rounder unprotected, and Biedrins.

OR

Thompson, Barnes, future 1st rounder unprotected, and Biedrins.

We have the upper hand and they need to meet our demands. Plus, they can't just get away with not giving away one of their young studs, sorry. Lindsey doesn't strike as that dumb and foolish.

Orlando has a massive $17M TPE from.............(wait for it).............last year's Dwight Howard trade.

Cleveland has a lot of cap space.

But I think Utah probably has to get involved.

There might be a few teams that would take a flier on Bogut, but the Ws are going to have rub off some real crap in Biedrins' and Jefferson's contracts.

The Jazz and Magic are likely the most willing to take Barnes as an incentive. Well, maybe Cleveland would too.

Latest out of LA is that the Lakers would be willing to do a S&T for the expirings IF Barnes or Thompson is included. So basically what we've been saying. Too bad LA appears ready to agree to those terms. We don't have leverage anymore. Oh well, let GS decide on this one. I'm actually hoping Atlanta is a late choice for Dwight so he can join his buddy, Josh.
