We are gonna win the lottery (official thread)

Yeah, just wondering. I think we were the only team who could absorb all that cap at once IIRC, but I bet the Warriors would have tried to dump cap in separate trades. Just wondering what we could have gotten for w/e cap space we could have absorbed and retained Millsap.

It's crazy to think that trade is one of the major reasons Golden State became a NBA champion and went on to have the best record ever.

Remember too how close the Dubs, about two or three summers ago, supposedly were in trading for Kevin Love? The whole destiny of that franchise would've been altered.

We let Kobe score 60. Silver will help us out.

Also, I was playing NBA 2k16 and we were #12 in the lottery. Got the #1. Tis a sign.

This team with Millsap would be pretty special.

Unlikely that Millsap would have blossomed the way he did in Atlanta, had he stayed in Utah. I loved Milsap but I think he needed a change of scenery and the culture in Utah under Corbin was not going to bring out the type of improvements he saw in the Hawks system.

I'd send Ingles, though I'm sure he would turn down the opportunity to just stay in Australia.

I could see us a getting a top 3 pick and bumping the Lakers out of the draft then Ingles cracks a joke about LA losing their pick.

Who do most Jazz fans prefer if they do get pick numero uno? Id say go with Ingram. Yall need a go to guy, Simmons to me just doesn't have the IT factor. He played with other talent and played in a conference that was not very deep and couldn't go dancing. Simmons also from what I have heard has an attitude and Jazz have a good core set of young players who all by most reports have great attitudes. I think Simmons is going be a bust. Sure he wil be a decent pro but as far as all the hype he has gotten, I say bust. Sorry to you Aussie Jazz fans but I call it like I see it. Id go with the American who improved his game as theseason went along and by all accounts is a great teammate and a guy who doesn't get into trouble. Thoughts from Jazz fans? Draft Simmons? Draft Ingram> Or try to trade down out of the first spot and get another guard like Buddy, Murray, or Dunn?

It's honestly the only way karma can correct itself. It **** on us with injuries, but now it's going to give us Brandon Ingram or Jamal Murray.
Unpopular opinion alert:

I'd take Murray over Ingram.

I'd like to add that I think favors is great. I second what Cy said that I'd like to see him slim down a bit. I think he is plenty big and slimming down could make him just a little more durable and agile.
Yep.

As PGAB points out, trade down and get Murray. Add another first rounder or two for the future, "just in case".

If they land the #1 pick they can probably trade down for Murray and add at least another 1st round pick..
That was exactly what I was thinking they should do.

I'm sure Boston or Philly would throw a good amount of assets around to get that coveted #1 pick.
