Ann Romney's speech was charming.

I didn't really like Chris Christie's all that much.

The Artur Davis speech was amusing:

Very remniscient of the 2004 Democratic convention. No one much liked the nominee then either.

Not totally surprising they gave Artur Davis a seat at the table even though he's been a GOP member for something like 13 minutes. Every four years the convention coverage has a subtheme of proving that there is a sizeable number of African-Americans in the GOP. I'm pretty sure every single delegate of color is shown on television at least once.

The GOP's congressional delegation has exactly two African-American members, both elected in 2011. One, Tim Scott, spoke yesterday. The other, Allen West, is a prominent part of the pre-show on Thursday. Davis is a good way to juice the numbers.

Sometimes I love you. Other times though, I just want to make sweet love to you.

So if Kicky impregnates you should you be forced to... never mind. I don't need another warning.

I'm pretty sure we're safe. First of all, he would have to magically grow a pair of testes, and secondly, I don't think he's even hit puberty yet.

I'll sweeten the pot for you.

There are EXACTLY five GOP members of latino descent who have won statewide office: Marco Rubio (Senator), Ted Cruz (Representative), Brian Sandoval, Susana Martinez, and Luis Fortuno (Governors). All five are speaking at the convention.

75% of all female governors are speaking (they only left out Jan Brewer, which is pretty defensible). Bobby Jindal isn't speaking because he's managing hurrican response in Lousiana, otherwise they'd have gone for a clean sweep on all minorities.

It's always fun when the actual theme of the convention every four years is "not just for white guys, we swear."

The good news is the few blacks they do have amongst their ranks are pretty interesting. If they were just rolling out dullsville after dullsville it would be even more transparent that they are obviously interested in showing off the color in their ranks.

Well, we can skip the love making for now at least -- I'm done.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Sirkickyass again.

So what I take from all of this is that Republicans are racist if they don't include people of color, but when they do include people of color, it merely highlights their broader racism. Did I get that correct?

I agree that the GOP is vastly a white party. However I am not critical of them for pushing the monirities in the GOP. The GOP should be reaching out to everyone. Having a smart articulate black woman or hispanic man is a way to do that.

I see that alot of the "rising stars" of the GOP are minorities. That is a good thing.

Edit: However yes it is a little dishonest to pretend that they are already diverse when they clearly are not.

All Republicans should aspire to the Democrat model whereby we pretend to be tolerant and inclusive until you disagree with us, challenge us, refuse to be a victim, or otherwise think differently than the majority of your racial group. You are than branded as "less than authentic", "brainwashed", or other various types of descriptions for "siding with the enemy". Welcome to the inner city public schools and housing projects. The modern day liberal plantation. Of course the exception to this rule is Obama. Since he is a Democrat, he is cool like Wesley Snipes. If he were a Republican he would be Carlton Banks.

Same for chicks. Only in the liberal world is Monica Lewinsky a real woman, free to choose to suck the Willie's willie and Ann Romney is the Mormon robot wife.

Look there are racists in both parties...but damn if this doesn't seem to happen more to your side.

"Race incident sees Republican convention expulsions
AFP – 2 hrs 3 mins ago

Two people were ejected from the Republican National Convention when they threw nuts at a black CNN camera woman and said "this is how we feed animals," the network said Wednesday.
"CNN can confirm there was an incident directed at an employee inside the Tampa Bay Times Forum" on Tuesday, the opening day of a gala at which former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney will accept his party's nomination to challenge President Barack Obama in November's election.
"CNN worked with convention officials to address this matter and will have no further comment."
Several witnesses observed the exchange, CNN reported, and convention security personnel immediately removed the two people from the forum.
The convention confirmed the incident in a statement late Tuesday.
"Two attendees tonight exhibited deplorable behavior. Their conduct was inexcusable and unacceptable. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated," organizers said.
The incident is surely not what Republicans wanted 10 weeks out from the election. Romney has struggled to attract African American voters as well as Hispanics, and he is also on the wrong side of the gender gap, with polls consistently showing women voters preferring Obama to Romney.
Current TV journalist and talk radio host David Shuster first tweeted about the incident Tuesday night.
"GOP attendee ejected for throwing nuts at African American CNN camera woman + saying 'This is how we feed animals,'" Shuster posted on Twitter.

I hearitly disagree. Racism is usually reported if a white person is the perpetrator. Otherwise it goes under reported or is given some absurd handle like "reverse racism". There are equal amounts of racists amoung all minorities (generally speaking). Whites just have a more firm grip on power and therefore it is reported and shows more.

The two idiots, clearly they deserve a worse name but I am thinking of the children, deserved to be thrown out. The should have been humiliated on the way out as well.

fair enough. I've seen it on both sides too. I can just tell you I've been a military brat, and see many different sides of the world, seen a lot more than the average person. By far my more conservative friends, and relatives are racist.

It's not even close really.

This doesn't mean all conservatives are racists. I've seen amazing people on both sides, and horrible. As far as racists comments go it's not even close. Through the years most came from people who you could classify as republicans or conservatives. I've lived California, Utah, Texas, Oklahoma, Washington, NYC, Japan, Germany, etc I think it's a pretty varied background. No ******** stoked what I'm telling you about my personal experience is real. Is one of the things that made me lead more liberal. By nature it's more including. Doesn't mean I've forgotten things like the black panthers, and other radical groups. But honestly look at the platforms, one is a lot more inclusive.

I never doubted otherwise. Ever. I have just lived in areas (inner city Memphis, Honduras) where the shoe is very much on the other foot.

Edit: The DNC is more inclusive based on race. No contest. however that inclusiveness shatters at the first sign of not accepting their ideas. The RNC has made strides in being more racially diverse but clearly has more work to do. The rising crop of diverse GOP stars gives me hope.
