We need a game thread -- Pacers at Jazz, 20131204, 7pm MT

Burks put in another nice game..... that makes four in a row

I think that was the perfect game... competed but lost. Problem is, the Pacers are "the best team in NBA" according to Harpring. So we'll still win more games than I'd like.

Everyone showed well in the exact manner of who they are and will be. for example, Favors showed a shooting touch on some stop 'n pop jumpers - dispelling anxiety over something that many have wondered about, which is his touch. Kanter showed some shooting skills that will only get better. Some of his blunders go away by end of the season. No worries about those blunders from me. Trey was asked by Corbin (according to Phil J.) to come out passing - he showed he's got the skills. I heard on pre-game comment from Booner, that "Burke wouldn't be that much of an assist man." I agreed with comment. And only 3hours later I'm disagreeing. Burks continues to play as we'd hoped/expected/desired. Favors and Kanter performed well against a 7'2" DOPY... not bad. Between that game and Houston, there is a lot to optimistic about. (with the exception that the tanking championship is in jeopardy)

also, can the effectiveness of the Jazz be attributed soley to Burke's arrival? I'm thinking all the messing around by Corbin with the ultra weird rotations and non-existent offense was pure tankification. The amount of Alfense is about gone. The running of an offense.

its just hard to imagine that Burke changed everything. I'll stay with this theory if we have some Boozer-quality injuries occur throughout the season I guess, otherwise it is Burke...

With 62 games left and the 4-16 record, and without looking, I'll assume 31/31 home and road games, I would guess about 10-21 road and 21-10 home for a 35-47 record without out some tanking effort. That's not good (bad) enough for a top 3 pick.

I think it is mostly Burke. He has played beyond my expectations. Before he got hurt our PGs were Lucas/Tinsley, I think you are forgetting just how bad those two were.

I think Ty was experimenting with the lineup and remember we had Marvin, Burke, Rush, Biedrins who were hurt. I would be shocked if the Jazz win 10 games on the road nor do I think they will go 31-31 either.

True. I think Jeremy evans who was out is a legit contributor. so maybe no tanking, just legit sucking.

Kanter came back, but man I hate watching him make stupid mistakes on defense.
The good thing is that these mistakes are not a lack of trying, but over trying.
Once he figures out how to stay to his man, he'll get more minutes.

All of the core played great games, maybe with the exception of Hayward. There's not much to complain about, Kanter/Favors with Burke as a PG is a trio to build around.
