What's new

We suck

The 'What could have been' team:

Rudy Gobert
Giannis Antetokoumpo .... (instead of Trey Burke)
Kawhi Leonard .... (instead of Alec Burks)
Devin Booker ..... (instead of Trey Lyles)
Nicola Jokic.... ( instead of Exum)

A man can dream, can't he?

Fixed a bit.

I wouldn't say we suck, but I'm very very worried about our team. Rudy doesn't seem to be quite the same as last season, so that has me concerned. If he's hurt just rest.
I'm really worried about Hood, I'm so tired of his inconsistencies and streaky shooting. It feels like this league is full of guys that can shoot/score and for whatever reason we have the one team in the league that can't. Our defense isn't as great as I had hoped.

I'm not worried about Rudy at all .. he's fine, he just has no freaking room to move anywhere

Where do you rank Gobert on the list of those players? Where do you rank Mitchell on the list of those players and his potential? Where do you rank Exum on that list? Which one of those teams would you trade Gobert, Mitchell and Exum for?

Gobert behind Towns, Butler, Embiid, Simmons, Fultz, Giannis, Porzingis... that's about it. Mitchell behind those + Wiggings, Middleton, Turner.... possibly Ingram, but not sure, possibly Ntilikina, but not sure. Exum is behind most of them.

I definitely wouldn't trade Gobert for Butler or Fultz. A lot of the others I would have to think about. I would take Exum ahead of a few on that list but he would be in the bottom half, Mitchell is probably in the middle somewhere for me.

That's not unreasonable. I didn't say some of those aren't close, I can see it either way with Butler too(and Fultz now with his shooting/shoulder weirdness going on)... but yeah...

We do kind of suck at the moment, but I think just adding one All Star-caliber player at one of the forward spots would put everyone else in their proper roles.

I'd easily put the first three teams ahead of us and probably the Knicks too. While teams must play high level defense to win a ring, you're basically neutered if you can't score. The game has changed and free flowing, high scoring offenses or players who can perform like such are huge. Porzingis, while still a bit inefficient, is a unicorn. Maybe the perfect big in the modern game. And he's still young as **** and could grow leaps and bounds.

To hell with this!! I deny you.

I'm gonna keep guzzling this kool aid and CHOO CHOO!! all season long.

Mitchell and Gobert are gonna light a fire under this team!

I just think of how many of our guys belong on the floor with the warriors. I think 2 will be able to go toes: donovan and rudy. Ingles, rodney, rubio, favors, udoh, sefolosha, et al make for a fantastic bench. We need at least 1 more warriors level starter and preferrably 2 before we can contend. Thats just my not so ground breaking opinion.

With Hayward gone the ability to create shots has nosedived, simple as that, the team is unbalanced and primed for a trade. Favors seems to be the bone asset we have we could get some scoring for. won't be easy though.

Losing Hayward hurt. Losing Exum really hurt. And JoeJ's decline/injury is just the last gut punch. We added/kept role players to support guys who either aren't here or got injured. Its too bad. We don't suck, but we are West average. Maybe playoffs, but no true threat.

Even more seriously, the lack of young talent is just a symptom of the larger issue of poor asset management. The Jazz have had pretty good players like Kanter/Hayward but haven't maximized their value. OKC got Carmelo friggin Anthony for Kanter.

Anthony sucks, bro.
