What's new

Welcome back to Salt Lake - Mo Williams

I was looking at trade possibilities earlier today that involved the Bulls, I'm not sure they want to give up Teague for a one year rental. The other options were, a combination of two of the four out of Brewer, Korver, Cj Watson, and Rip. Anyone like any of those options?

Forget Teague, go after the unprotected Bobcats pick. Off he top if my head I can't remember what year it goes unprotected.

I'll try to get behind it, probably more grumpy for having my Rondo dreams Mo'd down than really hating on MWill.

Maybe he can be our Chauncey Billups. I don't think Mo has played in an actual offense since he was here. Possibly he could flourish as a vet within a system.

One thing I am sure of though, Harris is definitely going. No way we are paying @ 20 mil for a pg position manned by zero stars.

mmmm.. not so sure. Watson is recovering. Also letting Harris go means we'll need to get 1 extra wing player (if you were going to play Harris at PG and Williams at SG).

I'd say KOC would most likely let Harris play out his contract for the final year (which also means he'll be going all out in auditioning for his next long term contract).

With both Harris & Williams final year next year, I think they'll do their best to co-exist and make it work. Don't forget Williams became an All Stars playing SG for the Cavs.

why would the bulls trade a player at a position where they actually have a need for a player at a position where they have all-NBA talent? and throw in a guy they just drafted, too.
It's my understanding Rose will miss half the season, but maybe I'm mistaken. If true, a team that is a legit contender cannot afford to rely on a rookie PG for 40 games. Harris would be a decent fit as the starter as it will take Rose soem time to regain conditioning even after he's cleared to play. Harris then finishes out the season as a valuable backup. Really, I don't see a better option out there for Chicago.

And the Bulls can't afford long-term deals. They put themselves in a bad position by overpaying for Boozer. This would give them the opportunity to clear $9M of salaries before the punitive tax penalties go into effect. I think they'd be able to hang on to Boozer in that case if they can't trade him. And I think that's a distinct possibility; no one wants to take on a contract like Carlos has.

by about december we'll realize that actual regular season mo and hypothetical june mo are two different players, and people will probably want his head for any number of things. then, the more grounded forum members will switch from "guys, he really isn't that great" to "guys, he really isn't that awful" and we'll have a devin harris type situation all over again.

LOL.

Agree. If he makes it that long.

I love the fact that Mo is a great shooter. That being said, I feel the Jazz need a PG who is an elite passer that can feed a Favors/Kanter the ball in positions for them to get easy baskets, and Mo doesn't seem like that type of player. In all fairness I haven't seen him play in ages, so maybe I'm off base on that.

Still, I always liked him personally and am pretty happy to see him back. Can't wait to see him hit a bunch of 3s.

Excellent point made by the famous @LostTacoVendor: "At least the Jazz have someone to shoot technical FTs now. We've officially addressed that need."

As lame as that sounds I must say I did cringe when Hayward or Harris or Burks went to shoot a tech.

Not an issue if KOC decided all along that we'd play him at starting SG though...

If I knew how to look it up I would, but, I'll bet we shot somewhere in the 60% range for technical free throws on the year. It was just disgusting how many times we missed when we sent our best FT guy to the line.

I think several posters agree with you. But, the salaries have to match in any trade we do with Chicago... who do you want from them? Korver? They might cut him loose anyway. Brewer + Hamilton? No need + no thanks. I'd love to pry Jimmy Butler away, but there is no way to do that without taking on a bunch of crap.

I'm pretty sure Mo was the point in Cleveland. Maybe I'm remembering poorly or forgot as you put it. Possibly playing with LeBruh makes every short guy a SG.

I'm feeling about 80% sure that Watson and Harris have played their last game for Utah. Good luck to those guys. I am totally sure that the roster as it stands will not be the one trotted out for the 2012 season. Jeff's out, Harris is out, Bell is out, CJ is out, some wing is in, some JAG big is in, and hopefully somebody's PG prospect is in. KOC always signs some guy that makes everyone's head itch too.

From Stein: "If Raps manufacture Calderon trade it'll be w/team with space or exception to take Spaniard w/no outgoing $ just like Utah did w/Mo Williams."

there's no ****ing way the Raptors are giving up first-round picks. Nice idea, though.
