seems like quite an adjustment going on for the Log I know.

The whole value of a "welcome" thread is its immediate warmth to newcomers. Here, the way you're talking, you just sound worn out with all the effort and disruption of a major move. Didn't the Welcome Wagon come around and give you and your wife some help, like say, a prepared meal, to ease the stress and create a sort of good first impression with you?

We're not going to wait until our newbs have left feeling cold and lonely about their foray into our forum, to say "welcome".
