Western conference regular season prediction contest

The Clippers started Austin Rivers and Patrick Beverly in the backcourt last night. Not saying that's definitely their starting line-up, but something to be aware of. It would be one of the weaker starting backcourts in the league. Teodosic comes off the bench, possibly to conserve his minutes. He made an effort to play defense when he was in.

I also forgot the Clippers picked up Lou Williams. He can help them and make up for losing Jamal Crawford.

Good luck to everyone with this season's contest, thanks to silesian and congrats again to MDAV28 and Nate505.

This is the strongest WC ever. Games will be tough and close. Ability to close out games, health and depth will separate close teams. Between #6 and #12 is too hard to predict. All 15 teams will be interesting to watch including PHO and LAL, the only teams with no playoff aspirations.

I'm excited about the Utah Jazz. Replacing Hill's and Hayward's points will be difficult but they'll once again exceed the expectations. How far they'll go depends on finding another reliable scorer and being able to win close games.

Damn, another game from Denver with flashes of serious potential. Their 5-out lineups are big and super-skilled. Raining 3s from multiple positions (Lyles DNPed, lol).

This was closest I think. I moved the nuggets up a bit due to Millsap, but otherwise pretty close.

how can anyone pick the t-wolves over the Jazz. Sorry but the franchise has to have a .500 record before i am going to believe the hype. Not saying they aren't good but they were really bad last year. The Jazz have matched up well with them too.

I think the Jazz will finish second in the Northwest behind OKC and sixth/seventh in the west. if the Jazz stay healthy and get major improvement form Exum, Burks, and Favors and a rookie of the year type of year from Donovan then I could see them finishing higher than sixth.

Regarding the Spurs, how long is Kawhi Leonard expected to be out?

I know the Spurs are the Spurs, but Gasol and Aldridge aren't guys who really want to run the floor, and their defense should take a huge hit if Kyle Anderson or Rudy Gay are filling in for Kawhi. I think that would put them behind the Rockets and Thunder in all likelihood.

Looks like they're staring Danny Green and Dejounte Murray in the backcourt. I'd have to think Manu's minutes are going to be limited.

They look good on paper, but they need to mesh, and they're not a great outside shooting team. I could see them adding 12 - 14 games to their win total from last year. One question is whether Towns can be more dominant than he was last year.

Watching the T'wolves vs. the Warriors. Wolves don't move the ball that well, don't have that much movement in their offense, and they're not that great a shooting team. I think they're going to miss having Rubio set guys up. There's a lot of deep iso shots going on here, and Teague isn't helping things much.

If Wiggins isn't going to improve his ball skills, he should think about playing some PF like Harrison Barnes.

They are also one of the best coached teams in the league. I will be pleasantly surprised if we finish in front of the pups.

I'm watching some of the Blazers in pre-season. The Jazz *should* be better than the Blazers, unless Lillard and McCollum are going ballistic. Watch for Caleb Swanigan to get a fair number of minutes. He's tough and skilled. Good pick at #26 in the draft.
