What about Luther Head?

Since when did a discussion about a potential Jazz target get moved to "General NBA"?

So the Hornets didn't get Head and Luther got the shaft.

As much as it would be fun for me to have him, the guy sucks and the Jazz should not blow their cap space on him. Getting Head for this team would be like buying a Hummer when gas prices are through the roof.

Beautiful.

Blood, what good is it to be a mod if ya don't exercise your "powers" now and again, eh? Have you no consideration for the mods at all, that it? Ingrate.

...not really a point guard at all, not a particularly good dribbler and doesn't really know how to "run" a team...

Sounds even worse than Ronnie Price. If he can't compete with Ronnie for a back-up PG spot, he is of no use to Jazz.

Head is really a "combo guard," who can play the 2 spot. At that position he gives his team the benefit of his excellent 3-pt shooting (career 39%), but he's only 6' 2" or 6' 3," and has trouble defending bigger 2's. If the Jazz aquired him, I figure it would be in part to help replace Korver as a spot player who can hit the 3. Korver wasn't exactly the greatest defender either, but he still brought something of value to the floor when he entered the game.

Head, especially when combined with Deron, would also be a good candidate to give us the kinda back-door cut and alley-oop dunk that Brewer did. They did it all the time in college. That (college) team was the consensus #1 team in the country in 2005, in large part due to the lethal Williams/Head combo. Some may also recall what happened when Deron and Head hooked up in the rookie/sophomore game a few years back. Head had about 14 points, as I recall, most of them on alley-oop dunks.

Hop, you think he's worth it. You know him being from Illinois. Can shoot the three, but hasn't been playing of late. Had a pretty good rookie year, though. Why hasn't he progressed?

He had a good rookie year with the Rockets, but I think he got lots of playing time his first year or two due to some injured players on the team. Then whoever it was came back and he didn't play as much, plus at some point I believe they had a coaching change, and the situation changed quite a bit for him.
