What about Millsap?

@orangello: I agree that if he would come off the bench that would be the best thing for the Jazz. Hasn't he not expressed an unwillingness in the past to come off it though?

He hasn't said that he wouldn't come off the bench but he has said that he is good enough to start. I am hoping that Favors and Kanter come out of the off season bigger, faster, stronger and better so that Millsap will know his role and shut his mouth.

Millsap is the most overrated player on this board of all time.

Yes he hustles and tries hard. Yes he has some great games and awesome plays now and then. But he disappears for long stretches. He gets beat down offensively and defensively. He gets frustrated and stops helping. He complains about the no calls on him and throws fits and does not get back. After getting a no call he tries to do much and rarely works out for him. His man defense is awful at times and anyone with size or athleticism abuses him. He plays the passing lanes a lot which gets some steals but his man is also open on cuts and for shots if he doesnt get the steal.

I am not saying he is better or worse than Jefferson because they are very different with their strengths and weaknesses. Jefferson is bad on defense a lot but if anyone on this team could hit a 3 his assists would be great.

Trade 1 of the 2 for the best value that will get you a solid PG, SF or high pick/s.

I would see if Portland wanted to do a sign and trade for Batum. Right now they play Pryz, a minimum salary fake tough guy next to Aldridge. They would get smaller, but much more talented with Millsap and Aldridge up front. They could plug Babbitt into the SF role and (obviously) hope he gets better with consistent minutes.

Millsap is a 6th man. And he needs to understand that its not a chop at his ability. Manu, Crawford, Odom, Terry all come off the bench and contribute and get more minutes then starters. He is better than Favors right now, but not for long.

I love Millsap, but he should focus on winning 6th man of the year next year.

You're right, Millsap is the closest thing this team has to a core player. Which is why this team got swept by the Spurs.

I've said for a while, that Millsap is the Jazz's best player, and if that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about where this team ACTUALLY is at, I don't know what will.

Wasn't Milsap #10 on NBA's MVP countdown for a while this season?

I heard Milsap's locker cleanup interview, and he doesn't like how he performed this season. He knows he sucked in the playoffs.
Can't wait till the offseason's over to see what he does. Milsap's usually the only guy on the team that you can tell put in the work.
