What are Donovan's weaknesses?

We are in such a great position with both Rudy and Donovan having years left with the Jazz. If we are going to take full advantage they need to reach their peaks in the next couple of years and hopefully we can attract the talent to surround them and go for a title. We already know some of Rudy's weaknesses, but based on his very recent play what can Donovan do to improve?

Wouldn't say he has any "weaknesses" in terms of tools, but I think there are areas he will continue to improve as he gets more experience.

1) Continuing to play within the flow of the game, without forcing up shots. The beauty of last night was that he scored 41 highly efficiently. Never seemed to force it. He has significantly improved in this area from earlier in the year. Playing with this mindset every game will make him a very consistent and well rounded player.

2) Getting more comfortable with NBA defense. Again, he has gotten much better since the beginning of the year. With that wingspan, athleticism, and high motor, he can be one of the elite wing defenders in the league. He still has to make sure he doesn't go under screens against good shooters, doesn't cheat/ help too much.

The crazy part is his rate of improvement already in these areas. It takes some players years to get comfortable with the NBA game. Given his work ethic and attitude I really believe he can and will be among the elite of the elite players in the NBA.

Undersized
Two footed jumper
Not great in transition
So so vision as a passer
Just an ok rebounding guard
Durable? (Fingers crossed)
Has been up and down
Could tighten handle some (in my opinion)
Needs to get to line more
Athletic guard but how will he age?
2P% has been low but i need to watch more games. Is he a poor finisher or too many midrangers?

I like the idea of your burn, but your execution was poor. You could have used so many better things than caesar salad e.g. snack pack, sloppy Joes, McRib, etc.

Mitchell walked in with the chin-up bravado of a veteran. He mainlined advice from Utah's revamped medical staff, including tweaking a diet that was already healthy by rookie standards. "I never used to eat salad," Mitchell says. Now he downs the grilled chicken caesar from The Cheesecake Factory almost every day. "I know it's not the best salad," Mitchell chuckles, laughing, "but I'm learning."

Mitchell is not just a two footed jumper. I don't know why people keep saying this or act like he has an inability to go off of one foot.

Mitchell jumps off of one foot in this highlight video nine times and scores seven of those times.

Mitchell jumps higher off of two feet. That's it.

he actually doesn't take a many midrangers. he actually takes most of his shots from the best places on the floor, just not always at the best of times. He also has had a lot of challenged layups that come very close to dropping in, but just don't for one reason or another.

Per deadspin.com -- "Mitchell’s shot distribution as an NBA player is downright James Harden-ian: on the season, he’s attempted 245 total shots from the restricted area and from beyond the arc, against just 96 total attempts from either the mid-range or the non-restricted-area part of the paint"

He little. That's it.
here's the thing though... hes the perfect size for a PG in this league, and has acutally played a ton of minutes at PG this season (nearly 40% of his minutes this season have been at PG). last night he played almost all of the 4th at PG where he scored 17 of his points and nearly single highhandedly won the game. 6'3'' with 7'0'' wingspan is elite PG size.

This is the thing which I might end up eating most of my humble pie over.

I was convinced he would be best as an off guard. It is clear now that he is a perfect combo guard. Can play either, both. He has veteran composure and poise. I think his handle is pretty solid and he moves like a cat. I can now see how someone with elite speed and acceleration is most effective when they know how to use it.

Heck, I'm starting to think in terms of who fits best with him as the starting 'point' for this team going forward.

ps Still love you X!
