What are Donovan's weaknesses?

Why? The Jazz and KOC drafted him #9. Not sure anyone had him that high. They invested heavily in him. When he said he wanted to be the leader, they - in part - let a beloved player go (Millsap) so Hayward could be "the man." He had a dedicated player development coach to work with him each off-season. And they were willing to pay him more than any other team could offer. The only 'offense' was letting him shop the market as a RFA. Even that was understandable as he was coming off a bad season and the two sides couldn't agree to terms. I'm sure the numbers were FAR apart. If they had been close, both sides compromise and you get a deal signed.

Huge re-writing of history and not factual. Utah could have paid Hayward more than any other team. Utah and Hayward's camp both knew he would get a max offer. The Jazz openly and ofton said they would match any offer he gets. Utah chose to save money by matching instead of giving him the higher compounding raises. That was a slap in Hayward's face, and also par for the course of how the Miller's have operated ever since taking ownership of the Jazz.

Was going to reply, then I saw it was Franklin, and realized it wasn't worth my time. . .

There is probably some truth to Hayward feeling slighted, but I think he was going to Boston either way.

I'd like to see his passing ability improve, I'm sure it will. He seems to fit really well as a PG, and with his size at that position he is deadly. If he can get his accuracy up that would be legit.
Not that I'm complaining....I freakin love this kid. I loved everything I saw draft night...summer league was great. His first few games were even good, even with some rookie mistakes. But look at how quickly that's changed! He looks like hes had a full season and a full offseason to work on his game...and its been what, 20 some odd games? I couldnt be giddier about #45

Actually you are rewriting history. Wasn't very hard to find this article which states Utah wanted to offer him $12M/per (similar to Favors' deal) and Hayward was asking for $13M/per. In hindsight, it was truly stupid to quibble over $4M, but that's the beauty of hindsight. In reality, I'm guessing the Jazz wanted to treat Favs and Hayward similarly.

Your second error is saying that the Jazz would save money by not giving him the higher "compounding raises." While it's true the Jazz could offer a higher percentage increase, the raises themselves don't compound. Second point is that the percentage raises don't matter if it's not a max contract (which neither side was asking for or offering initially).

And this article, which contains a quote by Bartlestein, certainly does not indicate Hayward was butt-hurt by the process. He WON free agency by getting a team to offer him more than he was originally asking for from the Jazz. That's how restricted free agency works.

You seem to have a huge problem with the Millers and the Jazz organization. Is there some reason for that? Are you a former employee of the Jazz or the Miller group?

I chose to believe Whoward left because David Locke kept teasing him about Olive Garden.

In other news I'm pretty sure Donovan Mitchell's only weaknesses include: he has has sleep to regain his power, he doesn't have an invisibility cloak, and he can't breath under water....yet.
