What's new

What could we get for Hayward?

We have to go in a different direction than this guy. I don't care how young he is. He is one of the most ineffective and unconstant swingman I have ever seen. Lacks all the basic fundamentals of even an adequate jumpshot. I don't think we could get a top 10 pick for him, but perhaps a young vet like Greg Monroe. Not him specifically, but too lazy to go beyond him at the moment. Hayward is not a long term fit here. Let's speculate.

Could do the same thread with Burks to, after his great performance against the Mavs.

Hope someone is getting the message...

he is being miss-used.

just like millsap was being miss-used last year.

for some reason alfense and hayfense. ****s players up.
you wanna know why because it is a one option offense.

we need to get a real coach then evaluate the talent

Hayward doesn't suck. Wait until next year, when the tank is off (if you think it doesn't affect players, you're wrong) and there is a new coach in place. We will all be loving Hayward, Burke, Favors and Parker this time next year.

Normally I would neg you with a comment about "Right, "next year", right C.J. Miles fan?" but in this case, I agree with you 100%. (dear Gordon, I feel like I need to bathe myself in fire now)

ShaaYYYEhaah... Original brah. How bout you come up with your own content you plagerizing biznitch. Got da massage?

Thankfully someone said it before I had to. This guy and Yammers are really upping the ****ty post ante this season.

What the hell did you just say? What's an alfense and hayfense?

My theories on Haywords struggles.

1. His hair do sucks *** and makes him look like a ferry. So players dont respect him. Plus it probably gets in his eyes when he shoots.

2. His wannabe beard also makes him look like douche. Probably loses respect for that too.

3. His girl is too hot. Once you achieve getting a great piece of *** then you have nothing else to work for in life. You are at peace with everything and dont care about nothing. So he probably doesn't practice, and he is probably thinking about it as he plays too.

4. He is really greedy and cares more about money than the game probably.

Having said that, I like Hayward. I hope he stays. But only for the right cost. How much he is paid will determine how much we like him. He is good for the 9th overall pick, and about 8-10 mil a year, but if he thinks he should get paid like an allstar then he is crazy. He'll be lucky to make one allstar game.

Here's the info I remember reading over the summer:

https://www.deseretnews.com/article...ward-cant-work-out-extension-deal.html?pg=all

So Hayward was hoping for more than what Favors got, I'm guessing probably just a bit more than that, but the Jazz were several millions dollar lower than that.

According to https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/UTA.html, Favors got right around $12 mill/year for 4 years. So Hayward was probably asking for $12-13 million/year (which also fits with the "somewhere less than Paul George" comment, since George signed for $16 mill/year), and the Jazz were offering $2-3 million lower than that, i.e. about $10 million.
Huh? It could be just the opposite: if George got $16M/per and Hayward wanted "somehat" less, maybe he asked for $13-14M/per. If he asked for the upper range, Jazz could have offered same deal as Favors and still have been several million dollars apart (on a per season basis). Also, the several million apart doesn't specify per year or total contract. Maybe Hayward wanted $70M on his contract and the Jazz offered $60-$65 ($12-$13M per). That's several million less.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but an earlier report was that the Jazz either offered (or were planning to offer) about the same terms as Favors received. In which case, it would be several million under the deal George signed on both a per season and total contract basis. Not saying it's logical, but any decent agent would bring draft position into any contract discussion and try to get Gordon closer to Paul's contract, especially given the fact Hayward is such an essential part of the team and was going to be the #1 scoring option and #1 playmaker.

Whatever it was, we'll know this off-season what Hayward's market value is. And I think that's ultimately what both Gordon and the Jazz agreed upon: if Hayward finds a better offer, then he can sign the deal...and then the Jazz can decide to match or not, just as they did with Millsap.

In order for me to feel good about anything more than 9 mil a year for Hayward, I need to see what he can do under a different coach.

lol. To be honest guys, this thread wasn't a serious one. I was angry because of the user Vermin who seems to be a little bit hypocritical in my eyes. On the one side he bashes Kanter for a pair of bad games but on the other side he doesn't consider the terrible games of Gordon. He is like Corbin. Gordon can do what he wants he will never get punished but Kanter ...you know the story.
When you take 5 games as an average you can see that Gordon is allowed to play 3 Games like **** having one monster game and one OK game (look at his percentage could be a Rudy Gay type of player when he was in memphis) and Enes isn't? Despite Enes ist two years younger than Gordon who rejected the offer from the jazz in summer and still having an insecure future with this franchise as long as you don't overpay him.

To cut a long story short i copied his Kanter - Thread and made a Gordon - Version of that. I do not hate Gordon or something like that.

I admit that was immature...

I don't really see a resemblance...unless you're claiming all white guys look alike.

You could have at least cut off the water below the ferry and shunk the ferry to be the same size as his hair. That would have gotten you the rep points. (And it's not too late!)

I neg'd you for being an Indian giver, and I feel better about that than getting your fake-*** rep.
