What's new

What could've been at trade deadline

Gordon reminds me of Kevin Martin. Undersized SGs who had a couple of good years, were overpaid and are now worthless, injury prone players.

I've cooled on Gordon but there is a lot of crazy-conjecture going on about him that all sounds really quite silly. Gordon is a good player, and that's all I can say for sure. That, and if NOH didn't want him then they could've not matched the offer sheet. Especially if Gordon drew a line in the sand about it (which he kind of did).

If Locke really did say the Gordon was available for a bag of chips then he's so full of ****. You think the Celtics wouldn't offer junk for Eric Gordon? Or half of the talent-starved and desperate teams in the league? He needs to stop talking like he's The Thriller. Again, if.

Why is it so hard to believe he was widely available or that teams either didn't want him or couldn't afford him. He's played only 50 games in the last two years and is owed almost 45 million dollars over the next 3. Given the constraints of the new CBA, I think NO would love to get out from under that and would take almost anything in return. I can also understand why teams would not want to take the risk given the money he's owed. He's not a good player right now, although that could just be the NO effect or his injuries, doesn't want to be in NO, and right or wrong teams question his attitude. What I don't understand is why some Jazz fans would be ok with a trade for Gordon. We have been complaining for two years now about playing time for Burks and now want to trade for a guy who has averaged 35 minutes a game for his career and at a cost of 15 million per year.

could be that the celtics didnt want to take on a long term contract for a guy who didnt play much this season. But yeah, you have to think someone would offer peanuts and popcorn for him if he was truly available. I mean, Gilbert Arenas got traded right?
