What did Kanter do wrong last night

I know everyone is upset that Favors didn't play more, but can somebody tell me what Kanter did wrong to only get 11 minutes. He was 4-5 from the field, with five rebounds. He was having his best game in two weeks. Harpring said that Kanter has to step out on the three on one of Frye's 3 pointers, but that wasn't his guy. Moreover, its not like Millsap or Jefferson were stepping out on the three. What bugs me is that the phins were down 10 when Kanter came in. The jazz even the score and then Phoenix makes one three and out he comes as if Kanter is to blame for being 3 points down. Its got to be real frustrating to the young guys. They play bad they get pulled, they play great they get pulled.

He got picked 3rd.

No, seriously, it just feels like Ty is more confident that he wins with the vets. I don't know what to say.
But yeah, at least Favors and Kanter both put up great numbers in overly limited minutes .. so that's good.

Kanter is under 20 years old, of course he's not going to play. We're a veteran team pushing for the playoffs.

In all seriousness, I think what Kanter is doing is very under-rated, even by our fans. This kid hasn't played competitive basketball in like 2 years or something and he's coming in and playing very well. He has an incredibly bright future, someday that little pumpfake from 15, side dribble to about 10 and jump shot is going to be his money move.

this made me laugh loudly.
i hope the coaching staff would allow the youngsters to play more when the playoff chances are mathematically over; so losing right now is a good thing.

I thought he did play very well, best in weeks and was hoping to see him get 2-4min more in the 4th and not saying right or wrong but you touched on it the likely reason was match ups. Frye and Warrick aren't good match ups for him but he did well against Lopez and was hoping to see him on Gortat more.

This shot is what made me a believer that he has a decent chance to develop a strong shooting arsenal; whether from 2 ft or from 20ft

Frye wasn't a good mach up for anyone but Corbin let everyone else play though it. Sounds like a double standard to me. I have been understanding about this kind of thinking this whole season. If it continues to happen it will hurt the team, but more specifically, the young guys.

Getting torched by the likes of Frye is what the jazz do best.

A stretch 4/5 is (one of) Corbin's achilles heel. OMG OMG OMG, I can't lean on the same players and expect them to do things the same way.

And, last night was a perfect example of why I can't watch a Jefferson-led basketball team with any joy. Favors and Kanter's minutes should have doubled.

I like this, keep preaching.

Last night's game was another one for the books. I was busy working during the game. I actually had to stop and watch while the 2nd unit gets us back in the game during the 4th q. I turned to my daughter and told her the game is over when Al Jeff came back in the game and I went back to work in the other room. I couldn't have been more right.

If the front office doesn't trade that worthless POS today, then they derserve what they get!!!

He's too young.

He got drafted by a team with a set big rotation. If he can't get minutes after playing like he did last night, there is no hope unless someone gets traded.

No time like the present for Kanter to get experience guarding guys who can step out to the 3 point line. Guys like Frye, Anderson, Ilyasova, Novak, Bonner, etc can hit it and Kanter when playing should get some time against them.

And Howard goes 3-12 in 26 minutes.

Burks - DNP-CD

Ty, you're losing me...
Yyyyyeeeeeeaaaaahhhhh...

If no wings get traded, I might also be calling for KOC's head on a platter. Optimizing trade value coming to the deadline is a valid reason for pulling this bull ****, but if that doesn't happen...

Yeah, if we could lose Raja or CJ (or, God willing, both) it would be worth having to watch Burks languish on the bench for a spell...
