What Favors is missing...

You saw it tonight. Favors gets the ball hit by Dirk and Earl stands up for him.
Favors is missing intensity and grit. He's a shy kid and I'm kind of worried that he has a passive personality.

What the Jazz need to do is annoy Favors by putting Locke on the bench with him. Locke will make Favors into a beast because he's so incredibly annoying. He's done it once before with Favors and that was when he asked Favors if he had the fire within him.
Either that, or learn it from Earl because if he develops the type of intensity that Earl or Raja have, then we'll have a dominant punk. Otherwise, he'll just end up being a better version of Brendon Haywood.

I agree. Favors can't get angry next play, he needs to shove Dirk right then and there, make the ref call a double T if you're going to react. But looking at Favors during that play, he didn't seem to grasp what Dirk just did. He was kind of out of it. He needs to be quicker.

Which is why we need to trade either Millsap or Jefferson so we can get full development into Favors. Im worried with coming off the bench he won't be as satisfied nor confident in his play. Dude needs to be getting 30mpg

His foul rate is way too high to do that right now. Big Al and Millsap are great offensive players and if Kanter and Favors can develop their offense to be close to that by learning from Alsap....watch out NBA.

Patience and a go-to move. The dude is aggressive enough. He gets the ball and tries to ram his way to the rim. He needs to slow down a bit and use his power and length. He should focus on 1-2 moves.

What do you call him throwing the ball in the crowd? Passiveness? He got ejected from the game. He's like 19 years old and a near MVP hit the ball out of his hands, do you expect him to naturally get in Dirk's face?

Takes more than sick athleticism to be a superstar, takes the right kind of mentality to be one. Haven't seen it from Favors yet.

I think he needs actual skill. He has tons of athleticism and talent, but few actual basketball skills.

Yes, skill is different from talent.

Getting mad at refs if different than getting mad at your opponents. You get mad at your opponents, and your throwing harder screens, cutting harder, and wanting the ball more. That's the type of intensity, the competitive drive, that he needs ingrained.

Let's be the first team to do a brain transplant and put Kanter's brain in Favors' body. Or maybe his heart.

Ya he would have serious stones if he got in Dirk's face after what he did. I've said it before, when he gets minutes he looks great. But right now we have 2 big men that deserve to start and are playing well. Unfortunately, I dont know how he can get more time without a trade though

Experience... time will bring this. Not a long time IMO as he has convinced me he has the right mental outlook. He is just so young. As is Kanter. Kanter seems to me to be thinking way too much. He will be fine too. When he is allowed to even think about a shot from beyond 3-5 ft he will surprise a lot of people. But that isn't going to be anytime soon.
