What Galls Me

Is that Hayward probably knew he was gone to Beantown last fall. He could have done the Jazz a solid like PG13 or CP3 did and we get something back for him. Dude was totally passive aggressive with the fans, team and front office. He's making Kanter look like a solid citizen. Heck DWill is looking like a good dude now. I remember when John Stockton has to miss some time with knee surgery and a reporter asked Sloan if Stock's absence would hurt the Jazz. Sloan looked at the reporter and asked if they had changed the rules and the Jazz would have to play with four men on the floor because of this. The reporter said no and Sloan said "We are the Utah Jazz and we will be fine." That's the emotion the team needs to take. I think a winner in this might be Alec Burks. If he can be healthy he can really contribute.

I agree. It is like Boston totally anticipated doing a sign and trade to obtain Hayward. They had the assets to do it, they had a gluttony of SF on the roster and draft picks. I would not be surprised if Boston has been so reluctant to use assets in other trades because they thought they would need them to get GH. Yet he up and leaves, takes less for them and is gone... Meanwhile Boston has to drop assets and try to reduce salary because they have an embarrassment of players and assets and the Jazz are left with a gaping hole.

Yeah I mean he could have, but Heywood has never been portrayed as an assertive, transparent, or confrontational dude. So I imagine it would be very uncomfortable for someone more on the passive scale to really articulate what his intentions were to the Jazz.

Who knows. Maybe he knew all along, maybe he made his mind up on the 4th. Either way, it sucks.

Would we have traded for Rubio if we knew he was gone? Would we have gave Jingles that money?

It's an interesting thought exercise.

I think he knew, he just didn't want to hurt the Jazz so he left the door a little bit open.

It pisses me off that not only did Gordon leave in a classless way and lead us along all the way when he could have been a man and been straight up, but on a personal level...

Checking my phone a lot yesterday pissed my wife off so she's pissy with me today... I am salty as **** today... very likely to fight someone for looking at me the wrong way.

In Burks last healthy year, he and Hayward were a virtual statistical dead heat.

It's different. Burks is a ball stopper and doesn't get his stuff in the flow of the game like Gordon does. I do think he comes back and plays better this year.

I'm in the same boat...... er, doghouse

I don't think Burks has the Basketball IQ to be really successful in Quin's offense. Smart, unselfish guys do really well. Which is exactly the reason that I'm really excited about Ricky Rubio.

My wife works in a program that houses mentally ill, drug addicted, homeless young adults. I was home all day yesterday. Yet I had a much more stressful day and was in a much worse mood when I picked her up from work.

That has also been my concern. Although, he seems to pass well in the open court. Burks seems confused when working in the set offense. I think he can thrive if you give him isolations and work with him on dishing. He has no problem beating his man. It's basically how IT operates though IT is a better shooter, especially creating shots when pulling up.

Note, that is a comparison for the last two years when he has been mostly injured.

In addition to physical rehab, Burks could probably use a sports psychologist.

His numbers associated with finishing at the rim has fallen off a cliff since he returned.

He preaches no fear; but my guess is he's terrified of getting injured again.
