Not sure this has been discussed, but I guess the Warriors came to the Jazz wanting their pick back and KOC told them it would cost them double.

What does that mean? Double the payment moneywise? Or double trade-wise? I'm pretty sure buying the pick is not a problem for GS front office.
Sounds like they had some preliminary talk about getting the pick back. GSW went public saying they would get it back. KOC is pissed and now says I'm going to need 2x as much as I would have needed before. You don't **** with KOC in trade talks by making stuff public. It is probably how he has managed to be under the media radar in everything he does.
I highly doubt we are selling the pick for money. Maybe a Burks/Thompson swap + future picks to Utah? Now KOC is like, give me Curry + Thompson + Future picks for Al + Burks + your pick.

Ehh, I still like Burks more than Thompson. But I get what you're saying.
Maybe, I would love to have Thompson's shooting. I hate it, because it's hard to properly judge him because he is on such a bad team. What could Burks be doing on that team? Thompson has still played better than I thought he would and would help us build a legitimate 3pt shooting team.

They're both doing about what I expected. Burks could have done a lot more if he wasn't hidden on the bench for the majority of the season. I think he would be tearing it up if he was in Thompson's situation. The only thing Thompson has the edge in is shooting, which we definitely need, but I wouldn't swap a player that I believe is more talented just to fill a need that we could fill in other ways.

Thompson's season reminds me of Haywards season a little except Hayward got a lot less play time because the jazz were playoff contenders the first half of the season. Both came on late in the season with nothing to play for. Burks doesn't have those same conditions.

I like Burks a lot, but I would take Thompson over him without needing to think about it. The kid can ball and we could definitely use his outside shooting.
I was worried with Burks’ shooting for awhile, but I have good hope in it. The scouting report on him before the draft was that he took a lot of jumpers just inside of the three-point line, and the percentage was not good. Same thing seems to be happening now. However, the report said that he had decent spot-up shooting percentage, and that indeed is the case with his three-point shooting so far. With spot-up shots, he is shooting 39.5% from 2, 47.8 from 3 (23 attempts from 3). He needs to shoot more spot-up threes. With spot-ups, Thompson is 42.6 (2), 47.6 (3) with 105 attempts—many more than Burks. If Burks can figure this out about himself, it seems that Burks could be a good spot-up three shooter. He just has not shot enough to know and many of his three point shots have been half-court buzzer beaters that he missed.

Yep, his catch and shoot have looked good so far. He still seems to have balance problems with his shot off the dribble, along with some bad shot selection. Like last game, he shots a pull-up 22 footer with at least 10 seconds left on the shot clock.

If I could choose a player out of Thompson and Burks right now, I choose Thompson and it's not that close.
Still happy to have Burks, though. It's largely a matter of fit, and the Jazz don't have a lot of real floor-spreaders and they need they particularly bad with the emphasis on big play and investment of players.

Bleep yes. For those who think Thompson is just a spot up shooter (a la Korver) you're wrong. He's a lot more athletic than most think, he's got good handles (loves to dribble with his left hand a la Hayward) and he's smart. I'm high on Burks as well, but I really like Thompson. I'm just glad he was off the board when we picked, because I'd have a tough time if we passed on him.
