What's new

What happened to Fesenko?

Height differential, not protecting the paint, and wings cheating inward (because of not trusting the lack of height for most of the game) had a lot to do with the loss last night.

The game was lost on the offensive end. Outside of transition, our defense did pretty well regardless of who was in.

And so what? He was really good for 6-7 minutes, put him back in the second half for the same amount of time! Should Fes be in better shape? Yes. Should Sloan still play him if he is effective? Yes.

When Fesenko lets his man run up the floor ahead of him, and that was critical in a couple of Dallas plays on the offensive end, what makes you think he'll have all that energy back in the second half? If he was only good for five minutes of energy (and two without) in the first, he might not even have five in the second. I think it's better to go with slightly less talented people,if necessary, who are ready to play. It may not be Coaching 0WIN as some posters here like, of course.

Fess played. Sloan said he liked his play and wished he could have played him more. So, is there some conspiracy theory here that I aint heard about, that it?

It is stupid to write something stupid, and say that anyone who disagrees with you is stupid.

The Jazz were losing the game before Fes came in.
The Jazz were winning the game when Fes was in, because of his play.
The Jazz were losing the game after Fes came out.

Fes should have played more.
Suggesting that this could not have won the game is stupid.
I didn't mean it how it seems you took my post.
I wasn't calling anybody stupid, was just saying Fess is inconsistent so who knows if given more playing time if he could've duplicated his performance (though I would've like to see him get time to try) as well as who knows how the rest of the team would've played with him in the 4th Qtr, it was pretty ugly and the Mavs played pretty well.
I do like Fess and I would like to think he would've helped bring the energy and hustle the starters missed (but the starters also lacked running much of anything resembling an offense or running any kind of system).

Quite frankly, Fes needs to temper his fouling and (apparently) improve his conditioning before he's given significant minutes. Until that happens, there is nothing wrong with being a 3rd string center.

For whatever shots he blocks, he gives up FTs with the fouling. For whatever shots he alters, he gives up points when the opposing center is running while he's trotting.

I don't understand how people could have watched that game and not seen that the Jazz did good when Fes was in the game, and the Jazz did not do good when Fes was not in the game.

For one thing he is really the 2nd string center and Elson is the 2nd string PF. That is why his +/- is always so bad. how many times has the player he is guarding out ran him and scored a bucked. But, yeah believe he does need to improve his FT shooting.

... how many times has the player he is guarding out ran him and scored a bucked.

You mean, as opposed to hayward outrunning him, getting a pass, drawing a defender, and a couple of passes later is a wide-open shot? Because I saw *that* happen.

Lemme set you all straight. In all home games, Physiquo makes me hide in a bathroom stall to sneak him his halftime whiskey sour. He usually only takes one, it's about 3 tall though. He comes in all huffy puffy after that half and it's obvious the mule was overworked. I says "He Phys, you played five, huh." "No way" he replied, "ten minute long. Now give two. Kyryl tired." While I was pouring he pulled up his shirt and forced me to tell him how manly he looked. I guess he thinks his beer gut shrinks a good bit after a ten minute jog on the court.

He goes on bouncing his pecks back and forth and smiling in the mirror at himself. "I'm incredible hulk, Frankie, you want to touch?".

What can I say, I couldn't resist the towering bloke. I gave him a good feel, the drink, and hid back on the john until the second half started.

Physiquo went back to the locker room prep and probably said something to the team about hershey squirts or explosive diarrhea. Word on the street is he messed up though by letting a big burp smack dab in Phil's face. Phil found a certain old announcer for instant confirmation, and Phys was benched for the second half. Jerry didn't really care though, as he thought Phys deserved a reward for playing 6-7 all at once.

Heh, keep em comin, eh, Frank!? Them, they ROCK! Watch sumbuddy come on here and try to deny that you're tellin the Gawd's Truth, tho, ya know? This here interet, its SERIOUS BIDNIZZ, I tellya!

I thought Fes always pulled himself out of games.
A tug on the jersey, a walk back to the bench....... don't blame Sloan.

I know most are just giving him a hard time for doing this but I actually liked that he did it, I don't think he did it as in "I'm afraid" of the moment but as a I know who I am, my weaknesses and my teammates (Francisco in this case) he knew there was good FT shooters that could/should be brought in.
For him getting crap about not paying attention to the game, this is one example that shows he did and was at that time.
