What if We Don't Pick Up Options

Burke, Exum
Burkes,
Hood
Kanter, Evans
Favors, Gobert = 8

Clark, Murphy - I liked to see these guys retained. = 10
Marvin - depending on price I'd be cool with him coming back.
Hayward. Meh, don't care if he comes back - hopefully can sign-and-trade.

Is there anyone I missed? (other than Thomas and JL3, who I don't care for).

The article said he was playing in summer league and would probably be back. It didn't sound so good for Murphy, Thomas and Clark.

Jazz spent extra money last season to get Thomas and Murphy
Would think Jazz would want to keep them.

Isn't JLIII's contract guaranteed? With him and if Jazz match Hayward that puts us at 10. Marvin for 2 years at 4-5 per, then take on salary in a trade and get a few more assets.

Outside of Hayward, does it really matter?
WE have the trio that will get all the guard minutes in Burke, Burks and Exum. If Exum struggles a bit, then Garrett or Lucas could pick up some time at PG or Hayward plays more at SG.
Hayward and Hood will rotate at the 3. Expect Marvin back to play the stretch-4 behind Kanter. Favors and Gobert split the mins at the 5. Everyone else is just filler.

JL3 will be back unless they can manage a miracle to trade him (maybe as filler), plus Garrett and Marvin for the right price outside of that and Hayward I agree it doesn't really matter we'll build around the young core everyone outside that is just filler. Burke,Exum,Burks,Hayward (if he's back),Hood,Evans,Favors, Kanter and Gobert thats the young core whom should get almost all the minutes each night, outside that just sign a vet or two (as per above) and a couple undrafted FAs and we're done. I don't see any room for Clark after the addition of Dante, Murphy could find a spot if his 3pt shot is any good (stretch four)

Why will JL3 be back? His contract is not guaranteed from everything I've read. Garrett was a much better backup.

Clark, Garrett, Thomas, Murphy and Lucas are all unguaranteed. If Neto doesn't come over I can see the Jazz keeping Garrett.

I can see a 3 guard rotation of Exum, Burk and Burks at the 1 and 2.
Hayward at the 3 with Hood getting minutes behind him.
Kanter with Evans getting backup minutes at the 4.
Favors and Gobert at the 5.
That's 9 players that should be getting consistent minutes for development.

Maybe the Jazz keep Clark or try to resign Marvin.

i'd be absolutely fine with no vets this season. Play the young guys as much as possible.

The only reason I can come up with as to why the Jazz would want to keep Lucas is because he's a good locker room guy.

With a rookie and a 1st-year player, I could see the Jazz keeping JLIII. He can't shoot, but we don't know how good he is a mentor. I think Trey spoke very highly of him last year. I think he sticks as the 3rd PG.

Not much. The money was spent to bring them in for a look. They'll play in summer league and probably get invited to camp.

I agree. I'd take Garrett over JL3 any day of the week and then on Monday. I actually liked Garrett's play.
