I think the harsh reality for players like Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap is going to be seen in the offseason. Teams are not going to give long term contracts to mid tier talent. Big Al is not getting a raise. In fact, he'll be lucky to find a 3 year contract from any team. Paul Millsap is likely to find that he can't even find a contract better than the one he turned down from the Jazz.

Teams will continue to hand out max contracts to stars. Everyone else is going to be getting the scraps that are left over.

I don't mind if either or both get signed as long as 1) the contracts are for whatever the going rate ends up being, and 2) aren't for more than 2 years.

Nobody said that Big Al was going to get a raise. He is making an insane amount of money right now. He will probably get a 4 year contract for 12 mil per year, and Millsap will get about 10 mil per year. Those are the table scraps these days, or about 60% of max money. I think that is about what they deserve.
