I think Borchardt was worth getting excited about. Jazz got a projected lottery pick talent at #19 - unfortunately he couldn't get over his injuries. It was a decent gamble (look at the guy they swapped him for), just didn't work out.
 
I thought Al Jefferson was going to be a huge upgrade over Boozer and would help us reach the finals.

WE all took Deron at his word when he said he was going to make Jefferson an all-star. "Damn it, AL, I'm a PG, not a miracle worker."
 
Kirk Snyder - i was certain he would be good-to-great

Gobert - at draft time, i thought an exeedingly tall dude was just another pavel.
 
Booed the Hayward pick and screamed at the poor fan that announced the pick and yelled at KOC because Aldrich was still on the board.

Was legit psyched when they acquired Keon Clark.
 
I thought CJ Miles was going to be good for us, especially after the last game of his rookie season when he scored like 24 points and Sloan said after the game something like "where have you being kid?". He looked promising.

I was also excited about Kirk Snyder and Humphries. Believed Humphries was our future at PF. Thad didn't last much though. Silly me

Damn, just logged in to say the same thing. Saw a highlight of him and I thought he might be the defensive paint presence the Boozer-Williams-Okur-Kirilenko team needed. Turned out to be a homeless man's Greg Ostertag.
 
Was hoping that Derrick Williams and Jimmer would fall to us at #3 and #12. Not that we did particularly great, but Burks alone made it pretty good.

During our 12th pick though I remember thinking that Kawhi was still on the board and wishing we would take him.

Keon was a Dixie College guy. Of Course you should have been excited!
 
I thought Kanter and Favors would work out.
I thought Burke would solve our PG problems.
I thought Kirilenko was the best player in NBA at some times.
I thought Marvin Williams trade was a good one.
I thought Rush could play decent for us.
I thought Biedrins wouldn't see any minutes at all.
 
I actually thought Charles Barkley was going to join the Jazz with Stockton and Malone during his last stint as a free agent. Was Stoked. . .
