What's new

What is the worst call you made concerning the Utah Jazz?

Poor Jeremy. No matter how well he plays he can't get any love. Everyone ignores the results and only focuses on how skinny he is. As if being skinny somehow makes you a bad basketball player or that there never has been a skinny basketball player before.

When Jeremy plays more than 15 minutes a game, the Jazz have something like an insane 75% winning percentage.

Isn't that because he mainly plays in games that we have already won?

Ya, he's an excellent rebounder.

Does he get push around a bit? Yes? But him being skinny is what gives him his advantage jumping higher and quicker than other players. That can be very useful if used in the right situation.

He's not going to be effect against everyone, but when it works, it works great. He can be our guy that plays above the rim better than anyone else. We now have Rudy, but Jeremy still has its uses.

You don't want to have a bunch of the same players who do the same things. It can be advantageous to have different weapons that keep the other team guessing and trying to figure how to stop you.

He is not an excellent rebounder. Have you been watching the games where he's been getting playing time recently?

I agree it's nice to have guys that can do different things on the roster. I don't deny that he has a role on this team, but most of it is predicated on matchups like Cy said. And most of the time, the proper matchups won't end up with him averaging 15 minutes per game. He could play 15 or 20 minutes one game, and then get a string of DNPs, but he'll never average 15 per unless he improves considerably.

Lol at Hack calling Jeremy Evans a good shooter.

Just listen to me. You've made a lot of bad calls regarding all sorts of stuff. This is another one of those times. You aren't very observant. You fall pray to group thinking to much bro.

You are falling pray to dumbass thinking. There isn't any empirical evidence that Evans is a good shooter and he doesn't even have much confidence in his own shot.

I hesitate to call him a good shooter doe when teams are giving him considerable space at the elbow or free throw line (while facing an already anemic offense) and he's not pulling the trigger. This is what has been happening when he's been playing recently.

Evans averaging a whopping 13.5 rebounds per 48 minutes, which is pretty meh for a player who only plays spot minutes. Excellent rebounder.

And the fact that he doesn't really want to shoot it when he is open.

At best he is OK when left wide open.

This year I have not seen Jeremy evans play in a game that was not a blowout. I have not watched a lot of games though. I like evans. But I think if he could be used, quin would be using him. Quin uses everyone who try's hard, he just must not see much in Jeremy.
No oooooh

He helps you win

Pay attention

He's been playing in recent games while the Jazz have been winning. That will help Hack's stat. I wouldn't say Evans has been very instrumental in these victories. He did have a great game against Memphis tho imo.

He has come in a couple of games and provided a nice spark. Really, once you put him in, if he hasn't made a spectacular crowd excitement play within 3 minutes, you might as well pull him because he just doesn't add much besides that.

Jeremy Evans is an excellent rebounder in the same way Boozer was excellent at defense.

Yeah, that was the game he got a lot of rebounds. After that game Hack declared him an excellent rebounder.

Did you not notice the log jam of bigs this year, and guys who command playing time. He's playing now because Kanter is gone. You know, that big strong guy who can rebound and shoot, and can't be bullied around? But wait, we are actually better, no way? I thought we needed all that muscle to help us win games. I thought playing Jeremy would make us suck.

Seriously. Pay attention

Last year Evans averaged 12.3 rebounds per 48 minutes. This was when he averaged 18 mpg. Not great per48 numbers for a guy who is suppose to be an excellent rebounder getting limited minutes.

Hack you are dumbass.

Yes, I'm resorting to name calling.

Also, I like Evans. I really don't care if he plays or not, because it really has no affect on anything at all. He won't be getting minutes next year.

No. Just because you have a short memory doesn't mean that was the first day I've said it. I've been saying it for a while. Go check out threads I've made on him that are years old.

We should run the offense through Evans. Isolate him at the top of the key, send Burke up to set a pick and be the roll man. Stick Gobert and Favors in the corners. Millsap at the free throw line extended.
