What's new

What is the worst call you made concerning the Utah Jazz?

I was somewhat disappointed when we traded Thurl Bailey for Tyrone Corbin. Not even sure what to think about that. I thought John Crotty's second stint would suck (he was actually pretty good).

I was disappointed we didn't get Seikaly. Still am. I think one of the draft picks we would have traded, however, was one that became Kirilenko. I could be wrong.

I was excited about Kirk Snyder and Kris Humphries, hoping we got a steal in the 2004 draft.
Me too
Bought Humphries jersey after summer league lol.
Gave it away as a gag gift a while ago

I booed Hayward when he got drafted
I thought CJ Miles was going to develop into a star

These, though I didn't boo the Hayward pick I was not happy about it

I think Borchardt was worth getting excited about. Jazz got a projected lottery pick talent at #19 - unfortunately he couldn't get over his injuries. It was a decent gamble (look at the guy they swapped him for), just didn't work out.
This.

Yeah I didn't think $5m per year or whatever it was we had to match was too much.

Having said that KOC did a great job of selling Raja Bell to us though and I think most of us bought it.
Problem is Mathews would have cost twice that for us. I thought the contract for Wes was too much, But had no interest in Raja either.

Isn't that because he mainly plays in games that we have already won?
I would think he would play in games that we lose by a wide margin

I honestly thought that Kanter would be our #1 guy.
I also thought Trey was gonna be our PG of the future and be a near all star PG

I thought Eric Maynor was going to be good, and I got wicked pissed that we lost him cuz of Harp's awful contract.
Yup
And I think alot of us thought that too

I thought it was like 9 million but I don't remember

Humphries is at least still in the NBA. Guess he still needs the money after the split with the Kardashian. I believe Snyder may be in jail. That is what you get for drafting a guy just because he is really athletic.

If he was that athletic, he would have outrun the cops.

David Benoit was once my favorite Jazz player. Probably cost us a championship. "Benoit for THREEE!"

Nobody around here seems to remember it now, but there used to be plenty of discussion about ditching Jerry and getting a real coach. I doubt anyone will own up to being on the fire Jerry bandwagon in the Deron era or the Legends era.

I stepped foot on that bandwagon a time or two in the Deron era. and while my reasons for criticizing Sloan were valid, my conclusion that he shouldn't be the coach and many others could do his job were way off base. Definitely my worst call.

I was on that bandwagon in the d-will era.
I thought he had gotten too old (I still think so)

The fact that we went straight to Corbin made Jerry look even better though
