What Locke Said

Hayward needs to learn to shoot off the dribble if he ever wants to become a legit 2nd option.
Otherwise, he'll just become a 6'8 version of Randy Foye. It would be nice if Hayward could also develop some form of a post up game to capitalize on his size advantage over most other SG's...

You right but we gotta be so patient and do not expect lots of things earliest. These combine slowly not immediately. Think about Lebron's post up moves. He was not posting up other SFs till the last year. For me, the key point about Hayward is consistency. He can not sometimes play averagely and other night as superstar. He's gotta learn when to push the tempo hard or not and shoot behind the arc better. Also, glue guys for teams are always more valuable than the others. He can play SG, SF and sometimes point forward. That's rare to see or create someone by working. And hayward does have it.

And for Kanter, next year must be turning point. I am sure he's bored to hear "potential" word like most of fans here. He's gotta find opportunity to show what he has and we gotta feel the excitement and happiness. I agree with Locke that he's special one who will demand double team and lead the team in next years.

You dont win a championship with HAyward as your 3rd best player.

I disagree. If You had a well put together team, Solid PG play, Favors as the 2nd best and a defensive monster, and Kanter as a 24 and 10 guy, Hayward could be the 3rd best and you could win a title. If you put Hayward on the Stockton Malone team in the mid 90's, he would have been 3rd best and we would have won imo, barring no biased refs

This. And not only that but hay would have been the second offensive option on that team. Stock was a distributor and did not like to score.

He would not have been the 3rd best player though. Hornacek was better than he is now. He was a lights out shooter and perfect compliment to those teams. He could shoot off of the move and from a set stance.
.
If those teams had anything outside of those 3 guys they would have won a championship.

Hayward will be better than hornacek was.

I have to disagree. Hayward shoots a better percentage from 3 and offers more defensively and can play with the ball more in his hands. Hornacek at the point in his career had some pretty ailing knees and he was kind of a weak link on the defensive end, especially in the chicago series.

You do realize he is 4th in the league from downtown since December, right? Dude doesn't get nearly enough credit for his shooting capabilities. *(this is about Hayward)

Lakers had Nash, Kobe, Gasol, and Dwight Howard and didn't make the playoffs.

haha, yeah that happened, or will i guess. But Nash is not Nash from a few years ago, and Dwight has half of his back, and Gasol was injured half the year and whining the other half. Oh yeah, and Kobe sucks.

AS much as I dislike Kobe, the dude can ball. I honestly think he could lead the league in assists if he wanted to.

Still sometimes Hayward can be known as Wayward... way off on his shots

But we have seen a lot more consistency from him as of his return from injury along with some decent D at times ... he's no Kobe but you keep him around and give him some better players he will only get better
