OK, it's slow, so another poll: At this point, what would you prioritize?

Any other realistic options?

By the way, assuming the Iggy for Al or Millsap trade had been discussed, who do you think said no? Why? Or was it just a figment of media/fan imaginations?

I voted 'do nothing more than 1 year contract'.

We have enough talent / players that need playing time to develop. We just now need to see them grow.

Good thread idea though - rep'd.

:)

Dat dude.

Sixers just signed K Brown.
Filled their center need.
Cheap solution to big man void.

I went with Jefferson for Iggy. Though looking at their roster, I don't know who else they'd give us that we would want (they're not going to give us Meeks or Young - they'd probably have to throw in a pick).

Meeks is a free agent and Philly isn't going to re-sign him. They've got Nick Young, Evan Turner, and Dorrell Wright. Also, are you refering to Sam Young? He's a free agent as well.

It's possible to see this as a much cheaper replacement for Brand (both reasonably good low-post defenders). It certainly doesn't address their need for front-court scoring. But you're right, it probably further decreases their interest in Jefferson.

I voted nothing more than a 1 yr. deal.

However, there are two exceptions:
1) Sign Millsap to an extension
2) Trade Al for an asset that would be better than could be expected from next summer's FA crop.

Cool. Yep - referring to Sam Young. I merely did a check of the roster but haven't kept up on who's able to sign elsewhere. The good news is I'm sure some other team wants Jefferson.

I said Al for AI he has a year left on his contract plus a player option. To me it makes sense for Iggy to opt out for one last big long term contract before he turns 30. I don't think it hurts us to take him on. Plus we get more time For Favors.

None of the options work. To trade Al the Jazz will have to get a big in return who puts up comparable numbers and is not a salary burden. The Jazz are fine with Al expiring and letting him walk while hoping that Kanter is ready in a year. They will not concede W's this year just to trade Al nor will they committ big $ beyond next year unless it is a key building block for the future. High likelihood Al is with us all season unless Kanter has a transformation in the next few months.

Since this is all makebelieve.....

Trade Kanter and Carroll to Houston for Monti and Terrence Jones.

Place amnesty bid of 2.8 million/year on Darco.

Call it a summer.

With those three you can trade Milsap or Jefferson if you still feel the need.

I voted to sign a shooter (even if they are one-dimensional) and to take on nothing more than a 1-year contract. I'm too lazy to really look up what shooters are actually available, but that's what I'd like to see KOC look into.
