What's new

What should we ask from Spurs for Lauri?

Spurs had just traded for Harrison Barnes.

They’re officially a win-now team.

Victor Wembenyama
Lauri Markkanen
Harrison Barnes
Stephon Castle
Chris Paul

That could be an 8 seed in the West next year.
Cp3 isn't a win now move. He sucks

Spurs would likely make their best offer in season when Lauri is extended. See how the season is going and if they can push for the playoffs. See how the Atlanta thing is going (this actually may hurt their package if the Hawks are playing well). If they are not making as much progress as they think they may opt to slow play it.

Blow me away or GTFO. Easy as that. If the Jazz can move JCx2, the young guys are going to take some serious lumps getting playing time this year. Just can’t lean on guys like Collins and Clarksonin case they rebound.

I read some crap article stating The Warriors have more leverage now. Nah. I'm more than fine signing Lauri to a few more seasons and keeping him. We're going to be better than people think!

Knowing our luck we would tank for Cooper and Adam Silver would reprimand the Jazz any way he could. I remember when he fined the Mavs 750K for resting players.
I hope we get fined 750K for resting players. Small price to pay for Flagg

If memory serves, that was because they got stupid and didn't make up a bogus injury. After all, there is a certain amount of pretense that goes into proper tanking to maintain appearances "for the good of the game".

this is exactly where i'm at. Run with Lauri and the kids and put everything into development. We'd be plenty bad and get a good draft pick and hopefully see real improvement in the young dudes

They also tanked a play-in game. They also failed to lie about it to the press (I believe they basically said they were doing it for draft position).

Also 750,000 is chump change in NBA money. Hell the jazz are still trying to get the the salary floor lol.
Bring it on

The issue is the team with the worst record only has a 14% chance at the #1 pick. The odds are the same with #2 and #3 and it's 12.5% with #4. Back in the day it was a lock but now... well... look at how The Pistons got ****ed. Some people on this board act like tanking hard guarantees #1 but as mentioned the odds are still bleak,.

Now... if the draft has 2-3 other guys who look to be beasts aside from Cooper, then that 100% changes things.

A. It does
B. Better odds are better odds.
