What Should We Do With Rubio?

Should Rubio go to the bench?

I believe we’re going to roll with him.

I think the same people should keep starting threads and keep repeating the same things about him in all of their posts and the Jazz management will read this and take action. Keep up the great work.

Either move Rubio to the bench or move Mitchell to the bench. Teams are double-teaming Mitchell, so he needs to play with another scoring guard to give him some room to work. Playing Mitchell with Rubio is wasting Mitchell's minutes. I think we either start Mitchell and Hood or start Burks with Rubio.

I think the Jazz should start Mitchell, Hood, Jingles, Favors and Gobert just to see how they function as a starting unit. As such, my vote would be to have Rubio come off the bench ASAP so they can make decisions about other guys before the trade deadline.

I’m not sure he’s in the team’s long term plans. . . so a trade should be on the table, but I wouldn’t trade him at a loss just to move him.

I’d trade him if we could get off his contract but I wouldn’t want to give an asset to dump him and I don’t think we need cap space next year.

Ride out the year... he helps us tank unless someone will give up mostly expirings for him.

Rubio/Gobert is a far bigger problem than Favors/Gobert

I hope when Dante comes back he can shoot

all signs point to...dante cant shoot either.

well.....what do we do? he has no trade value....He's a back-up PG in the NBA but hes being pushed as a starter. In todays game if you're a PG under 6'6 and you can't shoot then you wont get burn anywhere.

Rubio needs to be traded to a team where he will be a better fit, I believe, and the sooner, the better for both him and the Jazz.
You are ultimate Einstein and I think you always make great plans for Jazz. Like one tin I know you even discover Donovan Mitchell. I think you are intelligent assaians. Thank you.

No chance The Jazz move Rubio this season for a lot of reasons - none of them good though.

My biggest fear is Rubio has another March/April like last season and the FO paints this as an "transition year".

I pretty much agree with Candrew. His trade value is very low right now; I wish someone would make a good offer but it seems very unlikely. I do think he needs to go to the bench, especially when Rudy comes back.

Take him out behind the barn and put him out of his misery.
I was never a huge Rubio fan to begin with when he was in Minnesota (thought he was overhyped). But I got sucked into the notion he'd be a good fit with Hayward and the rest. Now it's coming back to me why I didn't like him: he tries to get too cute with a lot of his passes and he can't shoot.

Nickname should either be Bricky or The Albatross (as in his contract is just deadweight). He has to be bottom-3 in terms of starting PG's in the league. And that includes some backups who have been forced into action. He's likely untradeable. Minnesota got the better of us in that trade. And damn, Hayward...he was really the reason DL had to panic and get a PG.

Rubio struggled last December before turning it around. His value is low right now. No reason to give up on him when he can pretty much only go up from here.
