What Spurs Fans Think of The Big Line up

I would like to get their thoughts in a year or two when we are hoisting a championship trophy while Duncan, Parker and Ginobili are playing bumper cars with their Rascal Scooters. This should answer your question about our arrogance BTW. ;)

Yup, guess they will just have to console themselves with 4 championship trophies they already own. LMAO.

They sound like a typical group of fans. Some just arrogant **** sucks, some actually put thought into their posts and some are just believers.

This is a what have you done for me lately game. I guess they can be happy after they beat us in the first round and then are ousted shortly thereafter. But hey, nothing like a regular season trophy.

The best thing about making the Playoffs and playing the Spurs is they'll show us where our weak spots are and we can improve them for next year.

LOL.

I love how they keep convincing themselves that Milsap is too slow and not mobile enough to guard the 3.

Also, one moron thinks they can counter our big lineup by putting Bonner on Favors...ROTFLMAO!

Undoubtedly. It will be a good experience for the Jazz even though we are going to lose IMO.

Come on.... Bonner is a lock down defender..... :)

I think a lot of what the Spurs fans said is correct. For favors to have the large impact, he has to stay out of foul trouble. Sure they may underestimate the Jazz, but they are the 1 seed we are the 8...

The fact is, the Spurs have some players with a lot of experience that will help them, but on the flip side I hope their age will hurt them and allow the Jazz to keep it interesting. I'm hoping we can stretch it to 7 games!

Why is everyone so down on our chances? I think we have a pretty good chance against the Spurs. Remember we dont have those lazy no defense playing fools in Boozer and Okur. And also as long as we dont stroll Bell and Howard out there to clank a bunch of shots, I think we will do just fine.

Because we are Utah. You know this Blues.

I want to see Utah come out and set a new deffinition of attack. Just beast and go ape **** all over the Spurs court.

All teams have homers. Though believing Stephen Jackson is capable of "destroying" anyone right now is egregious.

Personally, I think they key to the Spurs getting did open threes against us consistently, is the fact that we double-team Duncan nearly very time he is in the post. Go back and watch the games. Even when Favors guards him, a winger usually comes to his aid, leaving their several long-range specialists wide open.

Keys to the series:

1) Favors or Al being able to single-handedly lockdown Duncan.
2) Favors being able to seriously damage their pick-and-roll game

Now, some of you might laugh at the thought of Al Jefferson locking a center from the d-league, let alone one of/if not the greatest PF of all time. However, Al Jefferson was ranked 2nd (I think) in the NBA last season, in terms of point-percentage that opposing 4/5s achieved, when Al was defending them. I don't know if this trend has reversed this season, but what I do know is that Al isn't half bad at defending other 5s one on one. Keeping Al on Duncan means that we can keep Favors out of foul trouble, and he can do an absolutely stellar job of trying to stop Parker from running the P&R. If we can weaken their pick and roll game, and not let Duncan pass to wide open players after doubling him, we essentially take away two of their best strengths. We hustle more, we have a good defender in Hayward, a scrappy defender in Carroll, and a player like Sap that can defend in the passing lanes while Favors works on the P&Rs. I honestly don't see the need to double one of the best passing bigs in the game, especially when his scoring output has seriously waned over the years. Just leave Al on him, and let Duncan earn their points the hard way. It all comes down to Favors and Al, defensively. Offensively, hopefully Al can continue his string of good games against Duncan The Spurs-posters on SpursTalk also mention consistently about how Devin Harris always "lights up" Tony Parker. Hmm. We will have to see how this plays out. I for one am definitely really excited for our team, even though we will probably get our asses handed to us.

Honestly, if we can manage just one of keys, I predict us winning one game, at most 2. If we do both, we are looking at a very competitive series.

does anyone want to stop for a second and consider that they might be right? no single lineup that includes millsap at the 3 is in our top 20 in minutes played... which means the sample size is so small that there's no accounting for a broad range of variables that can affect the success -- not the least of which is opponent quality. the fact that it worked against orlando-sans-dwight, portland-sans-aldridge, phoenix-sans-frye and other such teams does not mean it will work against a talented, hungry, healthy and super-intelligent spurs team.

How about they can cuss all they want?

Hey Torbin is this the site you applied for but its taking some time?

This would be a perfect time to do Jazzfanz Troll field trip
